We have some very disappointing news to share with you all. We work extremely hard to bring you the best show possible, and we understand that this announcement is sadly going to cause some of you a degree of inconvenience.
We found out late this week that the Elmore Equestrian Park, have also booked the Elmore Bns Ball on the same weekend as our show. We were not advised of this at any stage and only found out through one of our competitors. We have had this date booked 12 months in advance and this is the 6th Gypsy Cob Spectacular we have held at this venue.
We have discussed the matter at length and have run through a range of options, but unfortunately, we have deemed the risk too great to go ahead. We are all aware of the shenanigans that go on at a Bns Ball, and while there will be security in place, we cannot guarantee the safety of you or your horses. They have patrons arriving on Friday night and staying through to Sunday, and the music on Saturday night is planned to go until 1.00am.
Due to existing bookings both at Elmore and nearby Equestrian Centres, the only date we could reschedule to is the weekend of the 25th and 26th April. We appreciate that horse’s coats won’t be as lovely at that time of year, and many of you will have made plans that aren’t easy to change, but we think that the alternatives are better than having to contend with the noise and possible danger of a Bns that will be only a few 100 metres away.
The bonus is that it will be much cooler weather and after recent events in Vic, it may help to reduce the worry about leaving home. It should also make preparations to leave your farms for the weekend a little easier.
If you have already entered and are unable to attend to the new dates, we will provide you with a full refund. If you have already entered and are unsure and/or prefer not to leave your money tied up for such a long period, we will provide you with a full refund. Please email [email protected]
If you have already booked stables, please send Elmore an email or call them on Monday to either reschedule your booking, or get a full refund.
We are really sorry that this has happened, especially at reasonable short notice, but we hope you know how much we value your attendance and overall experience at the show. We have a duty of care to keep you all safe and no one is more disappointed about the issue than our hard working team. We hope that you will join us on the 25th and 26th April
