Today’s effort was all about working against mother nature. She makes the edge of the lake disappear and I’ve put it all back again so as not to lose our facilities. Cleaning out the ramps from all the silt that washes up and reinstating the foreshore to make it right for next year.

I got to hang out with this fella over the weekend.
Andy from AF Accessories provided a demo of his communication system over the weekend, and we couldn’t be more impressed. Using his expertise and knowledge, he delivered a fantastic setup that we would confidently recommend to anyone. His keenness and enthusiasm for working with powerboat racers is second to none.

Well, what a weekend it was—the trials and tribulations of racing a GP hydroplane. I have to thank Ben Swan and the rest of the crew for all the hard work they did to keep this boat going all weekend. It was one thing after another, all small issues that could have kept me off the water.

They worked their bums off, and I’m so thankful to have them as a crew. To the rest of the family that came up, I appreciate your support. I appreciate having you there—without the whole team, I’ve got nothing.

The racing was absolutely incredible and awesome to watch. In all the years I’ve watched powerboat racing, I’ve never seen anything as spectacular as what I witnessed on the weekend.

We will now take the winter off, reassess, fix up some problems, and be ready for next year. Thanks to everyone who supports us and looks after us—I truly appreciate it. Thank you.

So here we go! Griffiths cup is upon us
Hopefully a safe and successful weekend for all. Thanks to all volunteers and VSBC members for putting on such a massive effort for us to show off at. A very special thank you to Babcon cranes for supplying two cranes to put us in. Your kindness and support does not go unnoticed and we are all very lucky to have you involved. Thank you!

Pretty happy with how our test sessions went! We tried a new propeller thanks to Grant Harrison seemed to work fine.
Still got a ways to go before I’m 100% happy but baby steps we do one thing at a time.
Look forward to attending the Griffiths Cup 17th-19th of April!

Hi everyone, just a quick update on the GP21 Krusader.
Unfortunately, we will not be competing at Lake Eppalock. Our extended family is currently going through a very difficult time, and right now my focus needs to be with them rather than boat racing.
While we were fully prepared and very much looking forward to supporting the NDC, unfortunately we won’t be able to attend.
We wish all competitors the very best of luck and hope the meeting runs smoothly and is a great success for the club.

Race Weekend Wrap-Up

This weekend was a big step forward for us after making changes to the rudder and turn fin. The boat is finally starting to handle the way we’ve been aiming for, and while there’s still more work to do to get it perfect, we’re definitely heading in the right direction.

A huge thank you to the GDBC, all the volunteers, and everyone who makes these race meetings possible. It was a fantastic event, and the GP Hydroplanes put on an incredible show for everyone in attendance.

We’ll now head back to the workshop to review what we’ve learned and make a few more tweaks to get the boat exactly where we want it.

I’d also like to give a massive shoutout to my crew — Jono, Logan, Rod, Ben Swan, and Flower. Without these guys, this boat wouldn’t even hit the water, let alone perform the way it does. It truly takes a team effort, and I couldn’t ask for a better one.

We’re already looking forward to the next hit-out. With a few more changes, we’re confident we’ll come back faster and with an even better-handling boat.

Thanks again to everyone involved for an awesome weekend — your support means everything!
