🦁 70 YEARS OF QUIRINDI RUGBY 🦁
This year we celebrate 70 years of the Quirindi Rugby Union Club,70 years of country rugby, community spirit, hard work, mateship and pride.
From the founders who built this club from the ground up, to the players pulling on the jersey today, every generation has played its part in shaping what Quirindi Rugby has become.
Over the coming week we’ll be sharing photos and memories from throughout the decades. From the early days with little more than a paddock and determination, to winning the 2025 Central North 1st Grade Grand Final, a premiership 33 years in the making.
This club has seen it all.
From Colts, Reserve Grade and First Grade, to our women’s teams, generations of players have worn the blue and white with pride. Many came through the Quirindi Junior Rugby ranks, spending years on the sidelines as ball boys and girls, dreaming of one day pulling on the senior Quirindi jersey themselves.
And many of them did.
Quirindi Rugby has always been a hands-on club. If a job needed doing, players and supporters got in and did it. Whether it was marking fields, cooking BBQs, working the gate, pouring beers behind the bar, washing jerseys, strapping players, fundraising, cleaning the clubhouse or helping pack up after games, this club has always been built by hardworking people who simply cared about keeping rugby alive in our town.
To the mums and wives who cooked the sit-down dinners after home games back in the day, to the volunteers, sponsors, life members, committee members, coaches, trainers, supporters and every player who has worn the jersey over the last 70 years, thank you.
Without the generations before us, this club would not be what it is today.
Country rugby clubs are more than just football clubs. They become family. They bring communities together, create lifelong friendships and give people a place to belong.
On Saturday 23rd we celebrate 70 incredible years as we take on our cross-town rivals,a fitting way to honour the history, passion and pride of Quirindi Rugby.
Here’s to the people who built this club, the people who keep it going today, and the generations still to come.
70 years strong 🏉💙
