Vale John 'JC' Christison
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of true club legend and Life Member, John Christison affectionately known as JC.
John’s journey at the Magpies began in 1962, representing the club across nearly two decades on the field. Predominantly captaining our lower grade sides, he earned a reputation among teammates and opponents as one of the toughest competitors to ever step on the field.
When his playing days concluded, John’s dedication to the club only grew. For over 20 years, he served as our Net Captain, a role he held until the conclusion of the 2024/25 season. Respected by players of all eras, JC kept high standards at training with a quick wit and an honest word whenever it was needed.
His monumental contribution and selfless commitment were officially honored when the club named our training facility after him, a fitting tribute to the man who oversaw decades of preparation, camaraderie, and standards.
To generations of Port Adelaide cricketers, Tuesday and Thursday nights will always echo with his iconic closing call:
“That’s time, Gentlemen.”
Rest in peace, JC. You will be deeply missed, but your legacy at Port Adelaide will never be forgotten.
Our love and thoughts are with John's family, friends, and everyone across the PACC community. 🖤🤍
