PAAC athlete Ellie Whittingham competed over the weekend at the New Taipei City Athletics Open. She was one of 27 athletes competing as part of the Australian Athletics Under 23 Tour, capping off the team’s week-long stay in Taiwan.
The team was for developing athletes who are striving for national team selections at future championships . Ellie was able to experience competition in a different part of the world and the challenges that brings.
She ran the 400m heat Saturday finishing second and qualifying for the final a few hours later.
On Sunday she anchored the 4x400m relay team to victory .
Ellie started competing at little athletics with the club and has progressed through the ranks under the guidance of PAAC sprint coach Peter Burdett.
