ποΈ Vale Clare βClare Bearβ Roberts π»
It is with incredibly heavy hearts that we share the passing of one of our much-loved Life Members, Clare Roberts, affectionately known to so many of us as βClare Bear.β
Clare holds a very special place in the history of our great club. She became a Life Member in 1995, becoming the first female in our clubβs history to receive this honour.
Alongside Clare throughout so much of her journey was her husband Darcy Roberts, himself a proud Bears Life Member since 1993. Together, Clare and Darcy have been a very special part of the history and fabric of our club, and we know how deeply Clareβs loss will be felt by Darcy, their family and all those who have shared the Bears journey with them.
Clare was, without a doubt, one of our original club Matriarchs. A true quiet achiever, she gave so much of herself to the Bears without ever seeking recognition, praise or special attention in return.
For many, many years, Clare ran our canteen, keeping generations of Bears families well fed and happy. And, of course, who could ever forget her absolutely legendary savoury mince rolls? They were a Clare Bear specialty, and people still talk about them to this day.
Clareβs contribution went far beyond the countless hours she gave. Her loyalty, dedication, selflessness and unwavering commitment helped shape the heart, spirit and family culture of the Pine Rivers Bears.
She was a true club legend, and her legacy will forever remain part of our Den.
Our deepest love and condolences go to Darcy, Clareβs family and friends, and everyone within our Bears community who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
A wake will be held for Clare in due course. Further details will be shared with our Bears community once arrangements have been finalised.
Rest peacefully, Clare Bear. Forever a Bear. ππ€π€π»
