Cockburn Cougars Basketball Welcome to the Cougar Family. We are the home of the Cockburn Cougars, members of the national NBL1 competition and WA Junior Basketball league.

WA’s leading family basketball association has been proudly operating since 1972. Based out of Wally Hagan Stadium in Hamilton Hill, the Cockburn Basketball Association works to provide the Cougar Family, our community, with a connection to each other through basketball.

Thank you, Claydo 💙💛

After more than eight years in the Blue & Gold, Cockburn Basketball Association and Mark “Claydo” Clayden have mutually agreed to part ways, with Claydo stepping away from his role as Head Coach of our NBL1 Men’s program for 2027.

His final season as Head Coach saw our Men take a significant step forward, returning to finals and finishing inside the top four in 2026 - leaving the program in a strong position for the future.

But Claydo’s contribution to Cockburn has never been to just one team.

Across his eight years in the Blue & Gold, he has invested his time and energy across our Club - supporting the development of our WABL athletes and program, giving his time to young players, coaches and volunteers, and building relationships with people right across the Cougar community.

Claydo, thank you for your time, your energy, your commitment and, most importantly, for how much you care about our Club and our people.

Please join us in thanking Claydo and wishing him and his family all the very best for what comes next.

You’ll always be part of the Cougar community. 💙💛
