Founded over a century ago in 1908, Cottesloe Golf Club established its first links course close by the sea, where the existing Sea View Golf Club exists today. With aspirations of achieving course championship status, the Club moved to its present site in Swanbourne, where a new 18 hole course was carved from the scrub and sand hills using a horse and plough by a group of willing volunteers. e that time, the Club has been a prominent part of the history of golf in Western Australia and has played host to recent events including the Amateur Golf Championships of Australia, the Australian Junior Interstate Series and the WA Open Championship, and winning Metro Golf Course of the year in 2020. A Graham Marsh designed layout has progressed to being widely regarded as one of the finest tests of golf in Western Australia boasting a well-appointed, two storey clubhouse with unparalleled views of the ocean to the west and city to the east.
