SETS Cottesloe Our classes are tailored to train small groups of people with varied levels of fitness, injuries and goals.

We don’t believe in a 'one size fits all' approach to training, that's what SETS us apart.

Do it for yourself. 💪

For the promise you made to yourself. For the person you’re becoming. For the strength you’re building, inside and out.

Motivation comes and goes. Consistency is what makes the difference.

You don’t have to be perfect. You just have to keep showing up.

Your future self will thank you.

STRENGTH WITH SETS | EPISODE 1 🧠 Drawing on the research and insights of Dr. Stacy T. Sims Louisa Nicola

We talk a lot about building muscle, but what about building a healthier brain?

Heavy strength training challenges more than your muscles. It challenges your brain and nervous system, too.

And when it comes to healthy ageing, that matters.

We’re unpacking the why behind what we do at SETS — because strength is about so much more than what you see in the mirror.

You’re not just training your muscles. You’re investing in your future health.

No B.S. Just strength, and why it matters.

The SETS experience.
Life outside of SETS.

One of the best things about training at SETS?
What’s right outside the door.

Coffee after class.
A walk to the beach.
A swim.
A bite to eat.
A little wander through Cottesloe.

We’re lucky to call this place home — and we think the SETS experience extends well beyond the four walls of the gym.

Train hard. Live well. Cottesloe life. 🤍

It’s not just about lifting heavier or working up a sweat.

Strength & Conditioning is about building a body that’s stronger, more capable and ready for whatever life throws at you.

At SETS, our Strength & Conditioning sessions prioritise compound movements alongside targeted accessory work to build strength, improve structural balance and keep your body moving well.

Our strength programming follows a structured 16-week program, broken into four progressive four-week blocks. Each block builds on the last, with conditioning to finish and get your heart rate up without taking away from the strength work.

Whether you’re just starting your fitness journey or looking for your next challenge, every session can be scaled to suit different fitness levels, goals and abilities.

Because strong isn’t just how you look.

It’s what your body can DO.

We are honestly so overwhelmed by the incredible generosity and support shown for our River’s Race silent auction. ❤️‍🩹

A huge thank you to everyone who placed a bid and helped us raise vital funds for DMG research through River’s Race Foundation.

And to all of the incredible local businesses and individuals who donated such beautiful and generous items — thank you. Without your support, this auction simply wouldn’t have been possible.

Seeing our community come together around such an important cause has been incredibly special. Every bid, donation and act of support helps contribute to the hope of one day finding better treatments, and ultimately a cure, for DMG.

Thank you for getting behind River, his family and this cause. We truly appreciate every single person who played a part. 🤍

We’ll be in touch shortly with all of the auction winners to arrange collection of your prizes.

WHY YOU SHOULD BE DEADLIFTING

It’s not just about building a strong back.

The deadlift is one of the most effective full-body strength exercises you can do.

It builds:
• Glutes
• Hamstrings
• Spinal erectors
• Upper back & lats
• Traps
• Grip & forearms
• Core

But there’s another reason we love it…

Your brain. 🧠

Lifting a heavy weight from the floor requires your brain and nervous system to coordinate your entire body — bracing, balance, grip, force production, positioning and timing, all at once.

It’s a huge neurological demand.

And because you can progressively load the deadlift over time, it gives you a simple way to build strength, muscle, bone-loading capacity and confidence.

Strong body. Strong nervous system. Strong brain.

That’s why the deadlift will always have a place at SETS.
