Basketball Victoria is excited to announce the eight successful associations for the third round of Play Our Way Grants!

These grants will help support the associations to activate initiatives that strengthen participation, leadership and confidence for women and girls across their community.

🏀EXPRESSION OF INTEREST WE'RE STILL LOOKING - Aussie Hoops Leaders

The MDBA are wanting to bring back the Aussie Hoops Program but are desperately needing a volunteer to help run the program and assistants willing to help out with each session.

Ford Aussie Hoops is Basketball Australia's official introductory basketball program for children, designed to be fun, inclusive, and engaging. It is often a child's first experience with basketball and provides a positive, welcoming pathway into local clubs and competitions.

🏀WHO IS IT FOR
- Children typically aged 5-10 years
- Beginners with little or no basketball experience
- Families looking for safe, supportive entry point into basketball

🏀Sessions
- Sessions are short, active and engaging
- Based on simple games and activities
- Sessions plans are provided to the leader

🏀Requirements
- Working with Children Check
- Completion of Ford Aussie Hoops online leadership course
- 1hr a week in term 3 for 8 weeks

Early bird registrations for the U12 Country Skills Days are now open!

The 2026 Country Skills Days will be held on Saturday 25th July and Sunday 26th July at 10 regional academies across Victoria.

These Skill Day events are part of a development program for players of all abilities and standards from all associations located in regional Victoria. This will be an opportunity for identified athletes to be selected to participate in the U12 Country Jamboree in Echuca in September!
