UHWE MAY CLUB DAY 🐴☀️

Thank you to everyone who joined us today for another fantastic UHWE Club Day. It was a pleasure to meet our guests, Prue & Paul, along with their lovely young horses, who did a wonderful job navigating the Working Equitation obstacles throughout the day for the first time.

It’s always great to catch up with Leanne & Mel, and we hope to welcome a few more of our UHWE members join us again soon.

Today’s obstacles were built and each rider walked the course with guidance from Judy and Leanne, discussing rules, judges’ expectations, and important safety factors for all today’s obstacles.

The single slalom certainly proved to be the challenge of the day! While it’s easy to say “just ride it like a serpentine,” we all know that maintaining good rhythm, bend, and even paces can be a little trickier than first expected 😎

Thank you again to everyone who came along and contributed to such a relaxed, supportive, and enjoyable day.

⚠️ IMPORTANT — “You Ride, You Help” Agreement
Everyone pitches in! All riders are expected to help with setting up and packing away gear. Teamwork makes the day run smoothly 💪😊

🐴 Horse Guidelines
• One horse per rider
• No colts or stallions
• No extra horses tied, held, or led
• Horses will be secured for saddling & break times - No free-grazing on club days

🛡️ Rider Gear
• EA-tagged, current Australian Standard helmet
• Heeled riding boots
• Clean, safe riding attire matching your tack
• Tack & equipment should follow EA/ANEWL rulebooks

🥪 Social Lunch
We break together for a friendly lunch!
BYO food & drinks — no canteen or café on site.

🚰 Facilities
• No stables or yards unless pre-arranged with UHS
• BYO horse essentials: water bucket, snacks, etc. 🤭

🐶 No Dogs at UHWE events.

💸 Refund Policy
Tickets are non-refundable unless the day is cancelled by the Club Committee.

What a fantastic weekend for our Upper Hunter Working Equitation members who travelled to Tamworth for the HOTY competition hosted by TAWE! 🐴✨

From the moment we arrived, the grounds looked amazing and the camping facilities were excellent, with great stable facilities making the weekend comfortable and enjoyable for everyone.

The competition was extremely well organised, and it was wonderful to see so many TAWE members stepping up and taking on additional duties to help everything run so smoothly.

A special thank you to the judges, who were welcoming, generous with their time, and so supportive with their comments throughout the weekend. Their encouragement was greatly appreciated by all competitors.

The overall vibe across the weekend was terrific — easy listening music, plenty of laughs, The cheers from clubs as riders achieved PB’s was amazing great sportsmanship, and a relaxed atmosphere that made the event so enjoyable for everyone involved.

Congratulations and thank you to the TADWE committee for hosting such a successful event. UHWE thoroughly enjoyed the weekend and we look forward to visiting again soon! 🧡

APRIL UHWE training day - The ladies really conquered today.

Obstacles were set up very quickly and while a little Ai was used on the bridge 😎 our little pond didn’t worry the UHWE unicorns 🦄

The dressage arena build - well we are a bit rusty. 🤭🤯🤔🫣🫢😑
It may have been a parallelogram or a trapezoid may be even a rhombus but we made a rectangle and we will try to remember
All Kings Edward’s Horses Can Manage Big Fences. Also this is a circle ⭕️ and this is a egg 🥚 🤣🤣🤣

May club day will return the the 4th Sunday 24/5/26.

UHWE is thrilled to apply for a BHP community grant! 🧡🖤🧡

These grants are an amazing chance for small local clubs like ours to receive support from BHP community funding.

With this assistance, UHWE can enhance our equipment and resources for our exciting monthly club days.

The grant applications are shared with BHP staff and voted on by the employees, who choose where they would like to see BHP community support granted.

If you’re a BHP employee or know someone at BHP, please consider mentioning UHWE and asking them to give our small club a vote for inclusion.
