Cressey Sport Performance ⚾️

Absolutely pinching myself that I got to meet one of my idols and see the incredible facility he has in Florida!

For more than 10 years I’ve been integrating the methods I’ve learnt through Eric into my Hargrave High Performance programs and strength programs.

Never in my dreams would have pictured myself coming to Florida to meet Eric and his lovely wife and have a full tour of the facility and program.

Thanks again Eric & Anna this is something I’ll forever be grateful for. 🤝

What makes Hargrave High Performance the industry leader in athlete development?

We like to think it’s the care and individualisation that is given to every athlete that’s part of our team. 👊

Our Semi-Private model consists of strict protocols that ensure the athelte receives the highest quality of training.

📍Individualised Weights Programs
📍 Individualised Conditioning/Running Programs
📍 Individualised Recovery Programs
And most importantly….
📍 Individualised one on one training. Meaning EVERY session and every rep is coached & every program is adjusted on that day to suit what the athlete needs.

Our Semi-Private model allows for the athlete to receive as close to one on one training as needed.

However, it’s done in a small group ratio (4 athletes to 1 coach MAX 🔑 ), meaning you can skip the higher fees needed for a personal one on one session but still get the benefits!

NEED TO IMPROVE FITNESS MID-SEASON?!

It’s easy to identify if you aren’t fit in games right now you need to do more!

However, going about this the wrong way can make you even more sluggish ❌ and potentially lead to injury 🛑

So how do we go about getting fitter in season??

1- Top up your running or conditioning on Match day or football training days.

2- DO NOT add extra sessions on your rest or weights days. This only increases your chance of injury and could put you even more backwards!

3- Add some high volume work at the end of your weights sessions. Start by adding something small (2x15 reps) and gradually build a little over 3 weeks!

Remember when we train we stress the body, so be careful to balance the process of stress vs adaptation. 🔑

FEELING SLUGGISH?? 😴 //

We’ve hit about the fist month down of footy and it’s super important to individualise your training to suit how your body is responding.

Firstly, you SHOULD NOT be feeling flat, slow or sluggish heading into games.

However, if you are. Don’t stress you can easily manipulate some changes in your plan to fix this.

⭐️ Some of the things you can easily consider/change..

1- Strength training frequency. Athletes should be training 2x per week. Do not reduce this, adjust your loads and increase rest periods.

2- Speed training. 1x per week is an absolute must if you want to improve your explosive ability! Do not cut this out! Again, increase rest periods.

3- Reduce loading on tired muscles.
Hip flexors, quads, adductors for 99% of people are the areas we stay away from 🔑

Congratulations on an amazing performance from .martin & .semple for the AFLW academy on Sunday!

Both girls were incredible on the field but even more impressive is the work ethic and dedication the girls show off the field.

Every session the girls are grinding away and always striving to get better. We are so lucky to be apart of your journey’s! 🤝

Celebrating the hard work and return to play of 3 of our greats this Easter weekend!

played a blinder Friday for the after a long stint of lower back injury. 👏
statho returned to at full speed after an ACL injury 2 years ago. Incredible effort Nickos 👏

is one of the most resilient athletes we have seen! Well done brother on overcoming chronic hamstring injuries to now displaying a great performance for the Dragons Friday. 👏

Injuries are somewhat inevitable in elite sport. The very best athletes will work harder to overcome and never give up.

Well done boys, great to see you out there and enjoying yourselves again 💪
