Great Noosa Trail Walk

Great Noosa Trail Walk The Great Noosa Trail Walk is 1 Day or 3 Day Hike on foot with like-minded adventure lovers 🥾🌳🏕

The trail traverses the country towns of Cooroy, Pomona, Cooran and Kin Kin via a series of dedicated walking trails through farmlands, natural forests and spectacular lookouts of the hinterland through to the ocean. Walkers adventure at their own pace with ample time to enjoy the landscape, local cafes and antique shops enroute. A good level of walking fitness is required, but this is not a race,

plenty of time is allowed to complete each days walk. We recommend training on hills twice a week in preparation - as Day 2 in particular, has some steep but very scenic terrain! Volunteer trail guides join walkers along the way, led by event founder Shaun Walsh, providing assistance and information about the history and landscape. Camping accommodation is provided in camping grounds in Kin Kin and Cooran or alternatively accommodation is available for you to book at your own expense, at numerous guest houses. A shuttle bus will transfer all camping gear, as well as be available to collect tired walkers. The number of walkers is limited to ensure a successful and well co-ordinated event and maintain a friendly community atmosphere.

What a massive day on the trails!

Our volunteer guides and crew spent the day out checking the routes for the upcoming Noosa Trail Walk, and I have to say—the trails are looking fantastic. It’s so inspiring to see so many of you out there getting your kilometres in and prepping for the big three days ahead.

A huge shout-out to Tina and her crew for coming together—seeing you all motivating each other is what the Noosa Trail Walk spirit is all about!

We want to hear from the rest of you: How is your training coming along? Whether you’ve been smashing out long walks, hitting the stairs, or just getting used to your gear, we’d love to see your photos and hear about your weekend adventures.

Drop a comment or a photo below and let’s keep that motivation high!

Happy training, everyone!

Don't let a blister ruin your hike! Keep your feet happy with these 3 quick tips:

Wear the Right Socks: Skip cotton. Use moisture-wicking wool or synthetic socks to reduce friction.

Stop Early: Don't "push through" discomfort. Stop and adjust as soon as something feels off.

Fix Hot Spots Fast: Feel a warm spot? Apply tape or a blister pad immediately before it turns into a blister.

Your feet are your best gear—treat them well!

What’s your top blister-prevention tip? Let’s hear it below! 👇

It's starting to feel VERY real now!

Less than four weeks until we welcome you to the Great Noosa Trail Walk!

Behind the scenes, Bob and I are currently putting the finishing touches on your 2026 Event Guide — and I have to admit, putting it all together has made me even more excited about what's ahead.

We've designed the guide to be your one-stop shop for the weekend.

Everything you need to know about where to be, what to bring, transport, camping, meals, daily schedules and all those little details that help make an adventure run smoothly.

You'll receive it by email within the next couple of weeks, with the complete guide attached AND a live link so you can easily refer back to it.

Then, together with the maps you'll receive at the event, you should have everything you need.

So for now,

Keep walking.
Wear those hiking shoes.
Get that daypack comfortable.

And start getting excited.

Your Great Noosa Trail Walk adventure is nearly here!

We'd hate for you to miss this one...

With less than four weeks until the 2026 Great Noosa Trail Walk, Bob and I are now putting the final pieces of the event together.

Meals are being confirmed, transport organised, volunteers prepared, maps and logistics finalised. Very soon we'll need to close registrations so we can lock everything in.

The exciting news is that there are still a small number of places available.

So this post is really for the person who's been following along thinking,

“I'd love to do that.”
“Maybe I should.”
“I'll decide later.”

Later is getting pretty close.

You can join us for the full three-day adventure, or if three days isn't right for you this year, come and experience Saturday's one-day walk from Lake Macdonald to Kin Kin.

You don't have to camp for the three-day event either — stay in accommodation nearby, drive to the day's start and we'll shuttle you back to your vehicle at the end of the day at no extra cost.

Everything is coming together beautifully and we genuinely can't wait to share what we've been creating with our hikers.

If 2026 is your year to experience the Great Noosa Trail Walk, now is the time to join us.

We'd hate to be telling you in a couple of weeks,

“Sorry, registrations have closed.”

A little reflection from me tonight…

I’ve just come home from a weekend at beautiful Binna Burra, and I’m feeling that lovely sense of calm that comes after spending time in nature with good people.

Bob and I were there for a trail event — I covered 30km and Bob 50km — but for me, the kilometres weren't what made the weekend special.

I spent the day with two beautiful women. We camped together, shared meals and stories, walked and ran together, encouraged each other when things got tough, laughed a lot and simply enjoyed being outside.

And driving home today, I found myself thinking about the Great Noosa Trail Walk.

It isn't a race. There are no prizes for getting there first.

It's a chance to slow down for three days.

To walk beside an old friend or make a new one. To share meals. Tell stories. Laugh. Encourage each other up the hills. Notice the trees, the birds and the little things we sometimes miss when life gets busy.

There is something about spending a whole day moving through nature with other people that creates a connection that's hard to explain until you've experienced it.

Tonight I'm tired, my legs certainly know they've had an adventure, but I also feel incredibly peaceful.

And I think that's what I hope our Great Noosa Trail Walk hikers take home with them in October.

Not just tired legs and some great photos...

but full hearts, new friendships and that wonderful feeling that comes from simply being outside together.

I can't wait to share it with you.

Look Up

Film birds.

We spend so much time watching our feet...
that we forget to look up.

The Noosa Hinterland is full of incredible wildlife.
Take a moment.

Breathe it all in.

A pretty special day on the trail yesterday .

Bob and I spent the day walking from Lake Macdonald to Kin Kin with some of our wonderful volunteer guides as part of their Great Noosa Trail Walk training.

And what a group of people they are!

Our guides bring a genuine love of the outdoors and an incredible amount of hiking experience between them. Most importantly, they share our passion for making sure everyone feels supported and enjoys their time on the trail.

And the trail itself? It’s looking fantastic!

As we walked into Kin Kin, we also had the chance to catch up with locals Jodie and Jan and hear more about what the Kin Kin community is creating for our arrival in October.

We’re not giving too much away just yet... but their vision sounds a little bit magical. ✨

October is getting very close now... and we can't wait!
