A BIG thankyou to Sunny Hill Distillery for having us out today! 🐴🍹 Our members enjoyed a lovely relaxing ride before swapping the reins for a cocktail, all for a good cause! A great way to spend a sunday with good company, happy horses and a little something special at the end.

A big thank you to everyone who came out today for our Obstacle Play Day! 🐴
It was wonderful to see horse and rider combinations stepping up, tackling new obstacles and working through them calmly and confidently.
Obstacle work is about so much more than just getting over, through or around something. It helps build a horse’s confidence, strengthens the partnership between horse and rider, and develops body and feet control.
Most importantly, it’s great preparation and desensitisation for those unexpected surprises we can come across out on the trail.
And let’s face it, the trail has a funny way of throwing the unexpected at you! A tarp, a gate, a strange-looking object or something your horse has decided definitely wasn’t there yesterday… 😅
A bit of obstacle work and desensitisation can go a long way towards helping our horses handle those surprises calmly and confidently.
Riders also enjoyed a few light hearted games followed by a ride around our future obstacle trail, exciting things to come.
Thanks for coming along and supporting another great day at SYP Riding Club! 💙

Unfortunately, due to some administrative delays, the committee has made the decision to postpone our Stockmans Challenge until early 2027.

This decision has not been made lightly but we want to be sure to bring you the best challenge we can.

So, while it’s a little disappointing to have to wait, we’re looking forward to coming back bigger and better in 2027 with some fabulous prizes, sashes and plenty of fun along the way!

We’d also love to make a whole weekend of it, so there’s plenty of time for everyone to enjoy the Yorke Peninsula while you're here. With potential for a brewery ride and beach ride before everyone heads home. 🌊🐎

Thank you to everyone who has supported us and shown interest in our challenge so far. We really appreciate your patience and understanding and we can’t wait to welcome you all to the SYP Riding Club in 2027.

Watch this space… we’ll be back! 🤠
