Ocean Pilates® is a fully equipped boutique Pilates Studio in the Wannanup area, offering equipment Pilates, from rehabilitation to athletic development, including spine and bone health, postural alignment and symmetry. Initially established in January 2008 in Safety Bay

, before relocating to Wannanup, south of Mandurah, WA in July 2024. Sammy's objective is to provide a refreshing approach to the Pilates Method. Focus is on the Pilates Principles, Concentration, Control, Centring, Precision, Breath and Flowing movement. Whether you are an elite athlete, are in need of injury rehabilitation or looking for general fitness, each session is tailormade to suit your individual requirements, with class sizes of no more than 4 clients per session.

Advanced programming and intelligent progressions focus on building sequences with purpose - layering exercises thoughtfully to support spinal mobility, strength, and control while meeting the individual needs of each body.

About Sammy
Sammy Carter holds a Diploma in Pilates instruction through PITC. She believes in continuous education and learning from others and has trained under Katie Crane and Lizzie Webb, courses with Carla Mullins, Madeline Black and Lisa Jackson to name but a few.

Sammy has over 30 years in the health and fitness industry, with the last 18 years teaching Pilates. She set up Ocean Pilates when she moved to Australia in 2008 where she specialises in equipment-based Pilates with a strong focus on precision, strength, and long-term movement quality. Sammy has extensive experience teaching people who require rehabilitation through to athletic development, and everything in between.

I've been asked by my Pilates Association Australia - PAA to teach a Master Class on the Spine Corrector on the 6th March...so guess what will be making more of an appearance in the studio over the next few weeks!

Today's exercises include
Wunda chair standing leg press Kim,
Reformer standing arm work Kim,
Reformer single arm down stretch, Anne Gilbert
Ladder barrel horseback Munita Battersby ,
Caddie shoulder stabilisation, Andrea, and I think the most impressive is Sam Gangin with walking on the balanced beam with a full glass of bucks fizz and didn't spill a drop. That's a hard one to beat
