If you’re looking for a structured after-school activity for your child, Term 2 enrolments are now open for ATOM Soccer in Mackay.

Many parents want more than just a run-around after school. They want to see their child building confidence, improving skills, and actually understanding the game.

That’s exactly what we focus on.

ATOM Soccer is an after-school football program designed for children aged 5–12. Sessions are organised, supportive, and built around helping each child improve step by step. We don’t just let kids play — we guide them so they understand what they’re doing and why it matters.

For younger players (U5–8), sessions focus on building confidence, coordination, and comfort with the ball.

For older players (U9–12), we develop technical skills and decision-making in game situations.

It’s a simple approach that leads to consistent progress—and kids who enjoy the game more each week.

It’s easy for players to rely on what they already do well.

During our final U9–12 session this term, what stood out was the willingness of players to commit to their non-dominant foot. It wasn’t perfect. In fact, at times it looked difficult. But no one avoided it, and no one felt out of place for still learning.

That’s where real development happens.

From the outside, it can look like players are struggling or not quite getting it. But this is the process that builds long-term confidence and control. When players only use their stronger side, they may see quick success, but over time it limits their options in the game.

By working both sides consistently, players begin to build balance, awareness, and more solutions under pressure.

This mindset—being willing to work on a weakness—is what leads to well-rounded, confident players.

ATOM’s after-school sessions are designed to support your child’s club training, not overload it. We focus on helping players slow the game down, sharpen their technique, and understand why they’re doing what they’re doing.

That’s also why our Term 1 training begins in Week 2 — giving families time to settle back into school routines before adding anything extra.

At ATOM, every child is coached in:
