Good morning everyone, and welcome to what is one of the biggest weeks on our club calendar – Grand Final week.
Firstly, I want to thank everyone on here. To our players, coaches, volunteers, families and supporters – weeks like this don’t happen without the incredible effort from people right across the club. From the people preparing grounds, running the canteen, organising teams, washing uniforms and supporting from the sidelines – this club runs because of you.
To our players, Junior and senior this week is the reward for a season of hard work. Every training session, every tough game along the way has led you to this moment. Grand Finals are special – not everyone gets the chance to play in one – so enjoy every second of it.
To our coach’s and all there helper, thank you for the time, energy and passion you put into developing our players, not just as cricketers but as people. Your leadership is a huge part of why our team is here today.
To the families and supporters, your encouragement week in and week out means more than you probably realise. The noise from the boundary, the lifts home from training, the support after wins and losses – that’s what builds a strong club.
This week is about representing the Lynbrook Lakers with pride. Play hard, respect the game, respect your opposition and give everything for your teammates.
No matter what happens out on the field, remember that making a Grand Final is already a fantastic achievement. But now that you’re here, take the opportunity, back yourselves and leave nothing out there.
On behalf of the club, I want to wish our players the very best of luck. Enjoy the moment, play with courage, and most importantly play for each other.
