What a weekend for our Junior Lightning! 🧡💙
🏆 U16 GIRLS — PREMIERS!
Congratulations to our U16 Girls, who are now Premiers after a fantastic game and an incredible season!
The girls had to dig deep and work together to overcome a determined Clyde/Devon Meadows.
The game was close right through to the end. Our girls started strongly, controlling the ball and keeping it in our attacking half, taking that momentum into the second quarter and extending the lead.
The second half saw Clyde/Devon Meadows challenge hard and control more territory, but our girls continued to fight and managed to extend the lead.
The final quarter was another huge challenge, with Clyde/Devon Meadows reducing the margin to just one goal.
Our girls settled, regained control, stuck to the plan and found the goal that sealed the game! 🔥
A fantastic game. A fantastic season. A Premiership to be proud of! 🏆
💙 U14s
It wasn't the result we wanted on the day, but what an amazing season our U14s have had.
It was a fantastic game to watch, with the result in the balance right until the final moments.
Our team came out fast, kicking the first goal and creating plenty of opportunities. Berwick Springs managed to make the most of their chances, kicking accurately to take an early lead.
We controlled the second quarter and worked our way back to within a goal.
The third quarter was an even contest, with both teams playing some fantastic team football.
In the final quarter, our team left absolutely nothing out there, hitting the lead before a late Berwick Springs goal was enough to secure the win.
A game that genuinely could have gone either way.
We couldn't be prouder of the commitment, effort and teamwork shown throughout the season. Heads up — the sky is the limit for this group! 💙⚡
