Light River RC held our third Rimfire Challenge match on Sunday 1st Nov 2026. Attendance numbers were low (only 8 shooters) probably due to showers forecast by BOM. There was intermittent light rain in the morning, but shooting took place anyway. The match consisted of two rounds of 25 shots to count for a possible total of 500 points.

Results from Production Class were:

1st. Cameron Whant 474
2nd. Riley Whant. 468
3rd Richard Braund. 467
4th. Stuart Braund. 439
5th. Adrian Conlon. 424
6th. Craig Visser. 352

Karen Conlon only completed one round and retired following r***e problems.

Results from Production OPEN Class were:

1st. Drew 476
2nd. Chris Quinlan. 418

Many thanks to Karen Colon for handling the money and collating the scores, Stuart Braund for getting the old club BBQ hotplate operating again and cooking the songs for lunch, and Mick Punturiero for organising the event and setting up the targets.

It was originally planned to hold a Centerfire Match at 200m in the afternoon on the same H2 aiming marks. Unfortunately the rain intensified so it was abandoned.

Despite a rainy morning, Saturday afternoon turned out fine. We shot 500m with visitors Eddy and Pitor Kanik (Kapunda RC) attending.

Only 3 shooters competed last Saturday as the others were at the Maitland 2-Day OPM. It was partially cloudy and the wind was highly variable in direction and strength. Well done Ben Wrightson for scoring the highest %age.

Not much club shooting during September due to the absence of several club members and inclement weather. The SARA AGM was held on 10th October 2026 at 10am and there was a 900m shoot in the afternoon, won by Stuart Braund with one possible. (Note handicaps have not been incorporated in the final scores).

Congratulations to club stalwart Glen Heath for recognision of his 50 years of service to S.A.R.A.

Another great performance from Mick Punturiero at 700m last Saturday. Conditions were not bad, with the wind variable from between 1 o'clock and 11:30 o'clock 2 to 6mph.

Medals to Phil Britton and Grant Lewis from the Adelaide Plains Championship 2025/26 awarded last Saturday. Many thanks to Chris Green for passing these on while LR was out shooting.

Weather conditions were kind last Saturday. Welcome back Trevor Rudak, after time off with an injury to his foot. Mick Punturiero had an incredible score of a double possible 60.07 at 300m!
