We have finished the board and found out a few things- when dying a cloth it gets pulled through a pool of colour on a conveyor belt belt - then it’s treated with a scotch guard to keep the colour from running. This pulls the cloth unnatural ways and opens the weave.. we thought it would drape easier with the weave open but under normal lamination it actually gave the cloth memory and it was way harder to lap around the rails. And with the open weave it swelled up a bit too much so we had to use 1.2L of resin per side.. the other thing was a sanding lap was way harder with the scotch guard it felt like 6oz h**p instead of 3 Oz pineapple cloth .. so back to the drawing board. Next step would be to dye the yarn instead of the cloth. Change to treatment away from scotch guard to another dye stabiliser..

So we had lots of interest when we launched this fibre but some feedback was that the pineapple had a yellow look to the fabric.. so we thought what about we dye it to our best selling colourant tint colour - Sea Foam. We are going to a board in this cloth and give you updates along the way💪💪🍍🍍

Just an update on trading hours for this week- our showroom closed for the Easter weekend from Friday til Monday and will reopen on normal trade on Tuesday. Online will trade as per normal with any orders that have ordered after 11am on Thursday will be sent out on Tuesday. Have a great Easter everyone !

As we always do… we are testing new product

So we have been getting some discussion about the new fcs plug - we got some hands on them so it’s testing time. I got Ant to install them - our findings about 2 gram heavier and takes about 3-4 grams extra resin/milled fibre mix the lip fits perfectly into the hole and with the extra resin setting angles not a problem - exactly the same as the last plug. With the ribs on the side of the plug it felt that the plug will hold well with the blank and the resin will stay on the sides of the plug while kicking. So overall not much changes except more resin to hold the blank to the foam.
