At Wild Way, we’re big believers in letting little artists explore, experiment and follow their own ideas.. even when that idea is apparently becoming the artwork.

Our little artists have been very busy in the Wild Way fashion studio 🌸🎨

We’ve been exploring fashion, textiles + wearable art — painting real-life gowns, experimenting with fabric, designing accessories, adding ALL the embellishments and, of course, getting a little messy along the way.

As always, it’s less about making something “perfect” and more about giving children the materials, ideas and freedom to see where their creativity takes them.

We’ve still got a few sessions left in this theme if you have a little one who wants to try their hand at tie-dye, paint a wedding dress or bedazzle some accessories ✨

SPRING SCHOOL HOLIDAYS, BUT MAKE THEM WILD. 🌷

These aren’t your average craft classes.
This Spring, we’re giving kids the chance to get properly hands-on — chopping, sculpting, shredding, blending, painting, building and experimenting with materials they don’t get to use every day.

Choose from:

CARDBOARD CREATORS — Get on the ChompSaw and help turn piles of cardboard into one GIANT collaborative creation.

CLAY PLAY — Squish, roll, coil, pinch and build your own wonderfully wonky clay creations. Teachers will be there so help bring their visions to life- from tiny fairy garden to hideous beasts!

PAPER MAKERS — Shred it. Blend it. Pulp it.Colour it. Add scents and more! Then turn recycled paper into beautiful handmade sheets to take home.

WOODEN PEOPLE — Paint, dress and transform tiny wooden people into your own miniature crew.

SELF PORTRAIT STUDIO — Explore colour, paint and personality to create a self portrait that looks exactly how YOU want it to.

CREATIVE JOURNALLING- A special session for tweens + teens to encourage creativity and mindfulness. They will be given a take home journal, prompts to help them get started and plenty of materials to collage, draw, write, experiment and create a journal that’s completely their own.

90 minutes. Small groups. All materials included. School-age kids 5+. Drop-and-go. (Wild Way Studio)

Places are deliberately VERY limited so every child has the space and support to really get stuck in.

Even as an art teacher and a mother, I still have to catch myself wanting to step in. When the tape won’t stick, the tower keeps falling or frustration starts creeping in, every instinct says “here, let me help you.”

Because helping feels like love. But sometimes holding back is the best thing to do. When we give our little artists the space to struggle a little, experiment and eventually find their own way through, what we’re really saying is “I trust you. I trust your ideas. I believe you can figure this out.”

And there’s something pretty special about watching the moment they do. The solution might be completely different to the one you would have shown them, but that little look of “I did it myself” is worth so much more than getting it right the first time.

That’s one of the reasons I love process art so much. The painting or creation is almost beside the point. What I hope they carry with them is the quiet confidence that when something doesn’t work, they are capable of wondering, trying again and finding another way.
