A massive thank you to everyone that has done so much to help us get through this week with the horses. It was a tumultuous week to say already then Patsy's Star who ended up at the Ballararat Vet Hospital following his trial he had what looked like a colic attack on track. It turns out to be a great find by vet Alex discovering his colon had slipped on top of his kidneys and was having what was described as kidney stone pain. Much thanks to Neil Farley who was nothing short of incredible, Ruby Fraser, Sarah Sell, Remi Gray, Anthony Cosgriff & the on course vet for their quick thinking and actions to get him up off the ground, getting him comfortable and in the float. Massive gratitude to the team at Ballarat including Danielle Hannaford who gave the big red so much care in his recovery. Danielle you are an absolute star. He is perfectly fine and can continue his preperation. Onto yesterday where we took the red harlet Wunderlust to the races. To say she has a "special" temperament is an understatement. I came in from the Kimore car park backwards at 11 to the furlong vertical. Thinking well...... isn't this going to be fun. Along came Ash Yargi to help wash, Sarah & I sharing constant walking duties, the boys that have come to our rescue on multiple occasions Michael Newton & Darren Browell to help saddle, Alyssah Chibnall on the otherside and people from everywhere else to clear a path for entry into the mounting yard and get Neil on board safely & on his way with clerk Deb. What started as a day of how the f@ ended up with a happy compliant mare that performed very well and everything went super smoothly. She was a very happy girl overall and performed beautifully over the shorter course. Thank you from the absolute bottom of our 💕 including Ashlee Smith & her wonder pony Tonto. What is a difficult time already was made so much easier by a large group of people that jumped in to make it all work. This is a hard industry at the best of times but in the worst I wouldn't want to go to war with anyone else. The people in this sport are incredibly generous, kind, caring, thoughtful & just have our backs & pick us up. Mick is continuing his recovery and has had a wealth of support from family & friends. Our family is grateful beyond words 😘
