The 4th hole has been kind in recent months with two aces, one in competition and one in practice. But two in a minute? That would be too much to ask, but look how close playing partners Paul Ryan (left) and Pete Walsh came in the Wednesday comp yesterday! Of course they both made the birdie putts and Pete claimed nearest the pin by a whisker. So close but no cigar.

Preferred lie? I'd be lying if I didn't say I preferred not to plug in the wall of a bunker, especially when we have only six on the course! Monthly medal tomorrow with a three-hole playoff for the first time if there's a tie. Members draw at 3pm (or after the playoff if there is one). Come out if you're not playing!

How good is autumn in central Victoria?! The course is in primo condition, you can always get on, membership is just $666 a year with no joining fee, the drinks are cheap and we're only an hour up the road from Melbourne. Good times!

RSL singles matchplay quarter-finals were full of drama, starting with Connor Munro slam dunking his approach to the 1st for eagle. He was 4-up after 10, got the wobbles but beat Jason McClure 2&1. In the second match, Kash Karunasena (pictured) was solid all day, hitting too many greens for David Ryan and winning 4&3. President David Pilcher won six holes on the front nine and was 4-up at the turn but David Evans wore him down, winning the 11th and the last five to prevail 2-up. Ivan Smolcic won the first four holes in his match as Noel Alldis struck tree trouble. He found his rhythm and fought back but Ivan held his nerve to win 3&2. Next week Kash v Connor and Dave v Ivan.

Ever the showman and not averse to a celebration, can be expected to party long and loud this afternoon, this evening and possibly early tomorrow morning after making an ace at the 17th during the Anzac Day stableford. Great shot Regan, drinks are on you! 🥳🙌👏

Pretty frosty out there yesterday for the early starters! Thankfully the forecast for this week is much milder and the course is in sensational condition. Can't get a game in Melbourne? Come up the Calder and challenge yourself at one of the best country layouts around. Super value too.

The ball drop has been completed - 220 balls were bought and numbered, three went in the hole and two of them belonged to two-time club champion Col Hudgson! The third belonged to Helen Bourne. Congrats!
