INTERNATIONAL DAY OF YOGA 2026

This weeks leads into the International Day of Yoga - the theme for 2026 is “Healthy Aging with Yoga," is a beautiful reminder that yoga is truly a practice for every body, every age, and every stage of life.

Yoga isn't about touching your toes, standing on your head, or achieving the perfect pose. It's about creating strength, mobility, balance, resilience, connection, and peace within ourselves.

Through regular practice, yoga helps us age with greater vitality, grace, and wellbeing—both physically and mentally.

Whether you're 18 or 88, a complete beginner or a long-time yogi, flexible or feeling a little stiff, you are welcome on the mat.

Every body is a yoga body, and every practice can be adapted to meet you exactly where you are.

Winter is quietly asking you to slow down. Are you listening?

So many of us are running on empty without even realising it - difficulty switching off, poor sleep, that constant feeling of being “on”.

Sound familiar?

Your nervous system is craving rest. And winter - if we let it - is the perfect invitation.

A few simple shifts can make a real difference:
•  Slower mornings
•  Gentle movement
•  Grounding essential oils
•  Screen-free evenings
•  Permission to pause

Small, consistent practices often create the biggest shifts.

As we work our way through the Yama and Niyama in class - we’ll finish off our week honouring Ahimsa this Friday at RISE class 5.45am with an asana practice that opens the heart space
- and look inward for ways we can bring compassion, kindness and non-violence into our day, off our mat - practicing yoga beyond the poses.
