Queensland entered 3 teams, with players from Brothers Canoe Club, in the recent Australian National Canoe Polo Championships which wrapped up on Sunday 5th April 2026, after a 3 day long event.

Our Open Men’s, Women’s and U18 teams not only competed well, they displayed their skill, determination, teamwork and great sportsmanship throughout the event.

After a tense 3rd vs 4th our Women’s team showed grit and commitment, but unfortunately got pipped at the post but nevertheless, this game was amazing to watch.

Our U18’s came in 3rd place in their division which was an excellent result, particularly for a team that has had little opportunity to practice and play together.

Congratulations to all 3 teams that competed. It’s a pleasure to watch you all and you should all be proud of your performance.

What a way to round out our local summer canoe polo competition!

It was touch and go for a while as to whether the comp would proceed, given the questionable weather, but it’s great that the comp could go ahead at Regatta Lake, Springfield.

Sunday 8th March marked the final day of the local summer comp, bringing together great games, plenty of effort, and an awesome community on the water. It was fantastic to see the skill, teamwork, and sportsmanship from everyone involved.

A big thank you to all the players, volunteers, organisers, and supporters who made the competition possible. Whether you were battling it out on the water, refereeing, scoring or bringing playing gear, all your efforts do not go unnoticed and it’s all very much appreciated.

Congratulations to Div 1 winners, BARRACUDAS and div 2 winners, PIPPIES. All games in both divisions were pretty
close, which provided for a great competition. It’s also nice to see so many of the ‘masters’ out there giving it a go.

Sunday 1st February saw the start of our local Summer Canoe Polo competition — great to be back on the water! Given the recent heat wave and slightly smaller number of usual competitors, the comp was held at the ATC pool.

Awesome effort from everyone who got involved — it’s great to be back into the season! These competitions are especially important for up-and-coming players, giving them valuable game time and experience in a competitive environment.

Big thanks to all those who attended - players, referees and spectators.

Friendly reminder to register for Summer Comp #2 if you haven’t already (by 15/2/26 ).

Our end of year celebration concluded in a friendly game of canoe polo with a couple of highly talented new refs - Shaun and Tony. These refs were ruthless, handing out cards to seasoned players for misdemeanours such as leaving their sponge out of the pool and getting beating by their siblings.

It was all in jest and a bit of fun - great way to finish up another year.
