GEORGE, GURRY LEAD LOCAL CHARGE
THE RUN HOME

Garry George (Beulah) and Andrea Gurry (Nhill) have led the way for local trainers over the past three weeks, striking at Horsham and Warrnambool while Paul Hammerstein (Ararat) made the successful trip to Healesville last week with his young maiden Exactly Like Dad winning strongly.
But it was Gurry striking first at her local Horsham track with a winning double with Live Forever and Lektra Roger. Live Forever produced a faultless front running display, bouncing to the front from the inside draw cruising to victory in 23:55sec. Lektra Rodger brought the double up producing an almost identical run to his kennel mate, again bouncing on the arm and skipping away on the corner coasting to victory in 23:46sec.
Then it was over to George, striking first at Warrnambool with Mean Peace, flying the lids Mean Peace was not for catching turning for home a length to the good, cruising home in 22:39sec in challenging conditions. New kennel addition Bart Intention (Pictured) stepped out for his first start for his new kennel at Horsham and he didn’t disappoint, only away midfield but using a great turn of foot to position himself second turning for home he then displayed great strength to run over early leader Where’s Paddy coasting to a three-length victory in 23:50sec. George then headed back ‘to the Bool with Patriot Cilla only moderately away Cilla was forced to work extremely hard going into the first corner as the dogs bunched Cilla was able to squeeze through and take the lead and from there it was times and margins, Cilla stopping the clock in a fast 21:99sec.
Hammerstein hit the road and headed to Healesville with his promising young maiden Exactly Like Dad, the white and black chaser didn’t let him down bouncing to the front from the inside draw and cruising to victory in the good time of 16:80sec.
