Goblet Squats over other variations. Why?
In Linda’s case, she struggled with lower back pain and posture overall.
Goblet Squats encourage better posture and can be a great squat option when starting out as it encourages proper form. Another area Linda needed improving on when we started together.
We also needed to work on Linda’s core strength, which Goblet Squats are good for because they’re front-loaded, which requires the body to brace itself to avoid rocking forward, thus working core.
This is working well for Linda because her weights have gone from 8kg to 22kg, with her lower back pain improving, and her medical team commenting that her posture has improved! Her overall form has improved to, so much so that I’m going to be updating her program soon as she’s almost ready for a change!
