Griffith Blacks Rugby Training 6:30pm Tuesday and Thursday at the Exies Sports Club (33 Speirs St) The Griffith Blacks Rugby Club have a proud tradition dating back to 1960.

Over the years the club has produced some exceptional rugby players and won many championships. The club prides itself on tradition, respect, fair play and gamesmanship. GBRC play in the SIRU (Southern Inland Rugby Union) competition which encompasses 9 other clubs from the Wagga area, Albury, Leeton, Hay, Tumut and Deniliquin. Fielding four senior grades; 1st Grade, Womens, 2nd Grade and 3rd Grad

e consistently in the SIRU competition, the GBRC is also fortunate to have a great pathway for the juniors through the Griffith Junior Rugby Union Club with many juniors successfully becoming great senior players! The Blacks are a force to be reckoned with so why not get on board and join the Blacks family!

Friday night rugby under lights, and there’s no better place to be than Exies Sporties this Friday night as the Griffith Blacks take the field under lights for Round 10.

Our 3rd Grade kick things off at 6:30pm against Leeton before our 2nd Grade clash with Hay at 7:45pm. With fast-paced rugby, great atmosphere and plenty of club spirit, it’s set to be a fantastic night at the footy.

Rally your family and friends, wear your black, and let’s pack the sidelines.

From the players and volunteers to our sponsors and supporters, you helped create an incredible atmosphere while honouring Ben’s legacy and celebrating the amazing women who are such an important part of our club. 🖤

Tomorrow is more than just another game of rugby.

It is a day when our club comes together to remember one of our own, Ben Groat.

Ben’s passion for the Griffith Blacks, his love for his teammates, and the friendships he built through rugby continue to leave a lasting mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. While he may no longer be with us, his spirit is woven into the fabric of our club and lives on every time we pull on the black jersey.

The Ben Groat Memorial Cup is about more than the result on the scoreboard. It is about honouring a mate, celebrating his legacy, and remembering the values he embodied—mateship, commitment, humility, and pride in representing the Griffith Blacks.

Tomorrow, we welcome the Reddies to Griffith for what is always a fiercely contested clash. We thank them for once again being part of this special occasion and helping us honour Ben’s memory through the game he loved.

To Ben’s family and friends, please know that he will never be forgotten. The Griffith Blacks stand with you as we celebrate his life and the impact he continues to have on our club.

We invite our entire rugby community to come along, enjoy a fantastic day of rugby, support our Ladies Day festivities, and join us in remembering a true Griffith Black.
