🔥🌟 WHAT A JOURNEY! WAKAKIRRI 2026🌟🔥

What an exhilarating, exciting and incredibly PROUD experience for our IGNITE – BAM Dance family! ❤️

On Monday 17th August, our dancers took to the Wakakirri stage with “Awakening the Guardians Within” — and they absolutely SMASHED IT! 🔥

From rehearsals and backstage excitement to stepping onto that stage, every dancer brought their own personality, energy and emotion to our story. Months of hard work, commitment, creativity and teamwork came together in one very special performance.

And what a result! 🏆✨

On the night, only two awards were presented and we were incredibly proud to receive:

❤️🏆 THE SPIRIT OF WAKAKIRRI AWARD!

We then discovered our performance had received another FIVE Show Awards:

🏆 Storytelling Award – Great Minimalist Production Style
🏆 Ensemble Award – Well-Performed Rehearsal
🏆 Production Award – Overall Staging
🏆 Creative Production Award – Overall Costume Design
🏆 Storytelling Award – Story Theme and Concept

✨ SIX AWARDS IN TOTAL! ✨

To my amazing dancers — THANK YOU for trusting the vision, working so hard, supporting one another and bringing our story to life. ❤️ And a huge thank you to our families, support workers, volunteers and everyone who helped make this experience possible.

But there is MORE… 🔥🔥🔥

We are incredibly excited to announce that IGNITE – BAM Dance has been nominated for a NATIONAL AWARD! 🇦🇺🏆

AND we have been invited back to perform “Awakening the Guardians Within” again on Wednesday 9th September! 🎭✨

Whatever happens next, I couldn't be prouder. These dancers showed exactly what can happen when people of all abilities are given the opportunity to belong, express themselves and SHINE. 🌟

And together, they truly AWAKENED THE GUARDIANS WITHIN.❤️🔥

What a fabulous experience it was for IGNITE – BAM Dance to be part of Wakakirri 2026! 🌟💃

We feel incredibly privileged to have shared the stage alongside so many talented performers on Night One. The creativity, energy and storytelling throughout the evening were truly inspiring. ❤️
