Canberra Referees The Canberra & District Rugby League Referees Association provides referees for all Rugby League matches played in Canberra and surrounds.

We officiate at over 130 games every weekend in Canberra and as far afield as Boorowa, Braidwood, Bungendore, Crookwell, Cooma, Goulburn, Harden, Queanbeyan and Yass. The Association offers Membership to Senior Active referees (over 18 years old), Junior Active Referees (from 13 to 18 years old), Non-Active Referees, Life Members and Associate Members. Our referees come from all walks of life: men

, women, teenagers and retirees, current and ex players, coaches, administrators and those that just love the game.

Awesome opportunity for the father-daughter duo Luke and Lexi to referee the Maccas Mini Footy before the Raiders game last week!

After overcoming her initial nerves about stepping out in front of such a big crowd, Lexi had an absolute blast. More importantly, she walked away feeling a little more confident in herself, which made the experience even more special.

Today marks Reconciliation Day in the ACT. This year’s Reconciliation Week theme is ‘All In’, a call for all Australians to commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation every single day.

Canberra Referees would like to acknowledge that our association is based on the lands of the Ngunnawal and Ngambri people. Our referees also officiate games on Ngarigo country, Gundungurra country, and Wiradjuri country.

This National Reconciliation Week we show appreciation for the contribution of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to our game and our community, and we commit to walking alongside them in the spirit of reconciliation.

Our first-year referees will be wearing green socks as part of our development program. The green socks are a reminder that these referees are still learning and building confidence when they take the field.

Just like the players, our referees are out there to learn, and enjoy the game. We encourage everyone — players, coaches, and spectators — to show patience and respect, as they begin their refereeing journey.

Blake, Calum and James also had their first games in the senior comps on the Touch Line!

Today, the CDRLRA Board was able to entertain two of our sponsors, MEJ Lawyers and Fundamental Physiology, for the match between the Canberra Raiders and Penrith Panthers in a corporate box.

We thank both sponsors for their ongoing support of our Community Association and hope the experience was enjoyable.
