‼📣BREAKING NEWS - FRANKS WINS GC OPEN SINGLES TITLE📣‼
After a week of blue skies and relatively warm playing conditions, finals day on Sunday brought some rain but all the players (and officials) battled bravely and some great matches were observed throughout the final days play!
The first matches started on time at 8am with the players having to contend with the drizzling conditions and rain jackets were the order of the day.
Tournament favorite, Levi Franks (NZ) faced a strong challenge from Felix Gelman White (Vic) in the Final, and it was Felix who played strongly to take the opening game 7-5, before Franks took control and peeled off 3 straight games to prevail 3-1 in the best of 5 contest.
Croquet fans unable to be at Cairnlea for the event were treated to a livestream of the final - coordinated with skill and expertise by Karen Bisley with support from Jamie, Ethan and Samuel Gumbrell, while Addison Matthews together with some guest commentators kept us enthralled with a play-by-play commentary from start to finish!🎙

These people played and/or volunteered for the entire tournament and helped make it such a success. Thanks also to Brimbank Croquet club members, family members of players who assisted throughout the tournament made managing so much easier, all assistance is greatly appreciated!
