🔴⚫️ GRAND FINAL WRAP UP ⚫️🔴
Yesterday was a huge day at Wanneroo Rugby as our Under 13s, Under 16s and Fourth Grade battled it out in their Grand Finals. We couldn’t be prouder of every single player who pulled on the Kala jersey.
🏆 UNDER 13s PREMIERS 🏆
Congratulations to our Under 13s who came away with a hard-fought 41–27 victory over North Coast to take home the premiership!
The team came out firing and took a 29–12 lead into half time, but North Coast Rugby continued to push right until the final whistle. Kala kept their composure and continued to put points on the board in a fantastic team performance.
There were plenty of different try scorers throughout the game, highlighting just how much of a team effort it was, with Joseph Mikaere and Isa Ingram both crossing for two tries each.
What a season from this group — Minor Premiers & Grand Final Winners!
🥈 UNDER 16s
Just like last year, our Under 16s faced an undefeated Paly side who came out firing, scoring two quick tries inside the opening five minutes.
But our boys never gave up. Trailing 22–5 at half time, they continued to fight and came out strongly in the second half, with Peter Viliamu and Jacob Smith both scoring tries.
And a momentum shift moment from Kobi Treffery-Koenders, who nailed a brilliant conversion from the sideline! 👏🏾
Unfortunately, Paly proved too strong on the day, taking the win 39–19. Despite the result, which was a big improvement on last years score, our boys can hold their heads high. What an effort to make it all the way to the Grand Final.
🥈 FOURTH GRADE
Our Fourth Grade boys started strongly and went into half time with a 10–7 lead, thanks to tries from Austin Maugatai and Tom Sheeran.
Baysie fought their way back in the second half and eventually took the win 20–15, securing back-to-back premierships.
A heartbreaking result for our boys, but an incredible effort to make the Grand Final and give it everything until the final whistle.

And a very special mention to Raf, who after an incredible 23 years of playing at Kala, has decided to hang up the boots. What a legacy🤝
