The Maroney Swim Team squad program aims to develop the following swimming attributes in their swim team;
(1) Acquisition of the necessary of swimmi

ng skills (i.e. such as tumble turns and racing start) that are specific to competition in all aspects of swimming. (2) Improvement in physical capacities that allow sustained swimming
(3) Improvement in technical capabilities that allow more efficient propulsion in the water. (4) Swimming lessons designed for safety or recreational pursuits and other water sports such as Water polo and Royal Lifesaving. (5) Embrace the principles of childhood growth and development.......It's important to understand that skills and physiological capacities acquired while young will impact upon later stages of development. MST will facilitate these important swimming attributes by designing swimming programs with the following things in mind:
(1) Stroke technique. (2) Endurance and strength developed steadily with the right volume of work. (3) Optimum Intensity depending on the biological maturation. (5) Fresh new idea’s with motivators to perform. (6) Programmer training periods with a major emphasis on technique. (7) Goal setting in each session to enable mastery and retention of lower level skills and fitness that may be carried forward. Maroney Swim Team aims to develop the PHYSICAL → HABIT ← DESIRE and want our swimmers to not only understand “How to do it” but more importantly develop the attitude of “want to do it”

Dear Families, We have reached the 7th week of our 11-week term, and I am delighted to report that everyone is progressing exceptionally well. Despite the chilly weather, our pool facilities have been maintained at a comfortable temperature, with the Olympic pool at 26 degrees and the program pool at 30 degrees. I would like to extend my pride to each family who has committed to nurturing a young swimmer, fostering resilience, focus, and technique that adapts to their growing bodies. This dedication is crucial in developing a lifelong swimming stroke. It is essential to understand that swimming development is an ongoing process, and interruptions can hinder the biomechanical adaptation to being in the water. In essence, consistent practice is vital to achieving mastery, as swimming is not a sport that can be mastered seasonally.

11 weeks this term

Long weekend is our non swimming weekend.. due to staff unavailbilities… hockey carnivals, snow season..
Saturday & Monday NO LEARN TO SWIM, NO JUNIOR SQUADS..
