COACHES AWARD 2026

Selected by Head Coach Kerry Goulet and Assistant Coaches Marvin Kruger and Michael Flaherty. This season, the coaching staff found it impossible to separate two players whose impact on the team has been equally significant. For that reason, they have chosen two recipients of the 2026 Coaches Award:

🏆 Jed Lake
🏆 Tyrone Bronte

Both Jed and Tyrone have consistently led by example and played a vital role in the success of the team both on and off the ice.

Four years is a long tenure for a HEAD COACH in the modern-day AIHL.

Kerry Goulet joined the Melbourne Ice in 2023 and began a journey that would leave a lasting impact on our club and the wider Australian ice hockey community. He will be remembered as a passionate advocate for his players, a tireless ambassador for our sport and, of course, as a Goodall Cup-winning Head Coach, leading the Melbourne Ice to the championship in 2025.

At the same time, Kerry orchestrated the return of the Ice Hockey Classic to Australian shores, once again helping introduce our great sport to a much broader audience.

While Kerry's chapter as Head Coach comes to an end, our journey together does not.

We look forward to the next chapter, working alongside Kerry and Toni as we continue to grow the game of ice hockey in Australia.

Thank you, Kerry, for four memorable years behind the Melbourne Ice bench. 💙🏒
