We always look forward to the Southern Downs head to head - whether it be our baby Warriors, our A Grade Barrett Shield annual clash or any grade in between.

We caught up with Wattles junior turned senior player Tom Duggan, who reflected on the lifelong friendships formed through his years in junior footy, and the fact he’s still running out onto the field alongside some of those same mates today.

A huge thank you to our friends at Brothers Juniors Rugby League Toowoomba for the hospitality today. The welcome was warm, the commentary was positive, and most importantly, the coffee was hot. What more could a rugby league family ask for?

A massive congratulations to our boys on recording their first TJRL victory. You’ve turned up every week, put in the hard yards at training, kept working, kept believing, and today you got the reward you deserved.

Unfortunately, our Under 6 to Under 9 fixtures scheduled for Clifton this weekend have been cancelled, with Council deeming the fields too wet for play.

While we’re disappointed not to see our little Warriors take the field, player safety and protecting the grounds must come first.

Enjoy the unexpected sleep in, keep those boots dry, and we’ll be back chasing tries and making memories again soon.

Introducing our inaugural Grassroots to Greatness Weekend…

Every kid. Every grade. Every Warrior.

From Under 6s right through to A Grade, the green and gold will be out in full force on home turf, celebrating every kid who dares to dream, the friendships made for life, and the pathway that starts at grassroots.

Save the date, Wattles family, because this one is going to be BIG.

Wattles legend Shane Webcke, along with a few extra legends, will be joining in on the fun, kicking off the weekend at our Gala Dinner on Friday night.

Saturday will see our Under 17s run out for their last EVER junior home game, and rumour has it, a few junior “old boys” are lacing up the boots for a showcase of has-beens who still reckon they’ve got the moves.

Then on Sunday, our senior Warriors will host Brothers to round out a huge weekend of green and gold pride.

This is more than footy. It’s legacy, mateship and the Warrior pathway in full swing.

A weekend not to be missed.
