Two stories. One club. 💙💛♥️🖤
Every member has a different reason for pulling on the club kit. Some have been racing for decades. Others are just finding their way back. That’s what makes our community so special.
🏅 Meet Ron...
Ron has been competing in triathlons and duathlons for 46 years, completing an incredible 542 races along the way.
A Life Member of The Hills Tri Club, which he helped establish more than 30 years ago, Ron joined Noosa Tri Club after moving to Noosa nine years ago to stay connected with the sport he loves.
His achievements include podium finishes at World Championships, and he completed his most recent Ironman at 75 years of age—exactly 40 years after his very first Ironman in Kona.
This season he’s chasing more adventures with the National Duathlon Championships, Port Macquarie 70.3, and, of course, Noosa Tri.
Then there’s Paul...
After spending nearly a year sidelined through injury and a few frustrating false starts, Paul is finally making his way back.
His membership is renewed, the new club kit is on its way, races are starting to appear on the calendar, and the Garmin metrics are (hopefully!) heading in the right direction.
His goal? In his own words:
“To be one of the turtles 🐢 trying to turn into a rabbit 🐇.”
It’s a reminder that every comeback starts somewhere. Showing up to that first swim session or rolling out for that first group ride after time away is often the hardest step.
Whether you’ve raced 500+ events, you’re chasing another podium, or you’re simply working your way back after injury, there’s a place for you at Noosa Tri Club.
Here’s to celebrating every finish line—and every fresh start. 💙💛♥️🖤

Introducing club partner TriExcel Nutrition (also known as socials Sue) an accredited sports nutritionist with over 25 years in the sport.
I'm absolutely stoked to be joining the Noosa Tri Club as a club partner! 💙💛❤️🖤
What excites me most isn't having a logo on a banner—it's having the opportunity to help club members improve their nutrition to support better performance, health and long-term wellness.
At TriExcel, we're huge believers in the value of clubs. Throughout our own journey, clubs have helped us connect with incredible communities, build lifelong friendships, learn from great coaches and, ultimately, become better coaches ourselves.
To us, clubs are the beating heart of our sport.
So, what can Noosa Tri Club members expect from me?
✅ Free nutrition education and practical resources✅ Evidence-based information you can actually use✅ Member discounts on personalised meal plans and race nutrition plans✅ Support that complements the outstanding coaching already available through the club
I'm also a huge fan of the Noosa Tri Club coaching team. They do a fantastic job helping athletes become stronger, faster and more confident. If I can add another piece to that puzzle by helping members fuel their training and racing a little better, then I'm all in.
Here's to a great partnership, plenty of learning, and helping more athletes enjoy the sport while performing at their best. 🙌

Saturdays NTC group ride will head into the hills again this week. Leaving from Lions Park Noosa Heads at 6am. The two main groups will head out to Gyndia onto Sunrise and around to Cooroy with the medium group turning just before Cooroy and back to Noosa for 55km ride. The longer group will do Black Mountain, Pamona out to Cootharaba and back to the Noosa Boathouse for coffee via McKinnon drive. Lantern Rouge ride will depart 5 mins after the main bunch.
Weather is looking perfect so time to start your Noosa Tri Build 😉

🚨 NEWS FLASH! 🚨
Scientists* have confirmed that Barefoot Bowls is an elite recovery protocol.
Benefits include:
✅ +5 watts FTP*
✅ Faster recovery*
✅ Improved race stories*
✅ Stronger friendships ✔️ (This one’s actually true.)
(*Results may not be supported by science... but they’re definitely supported by a good afternoon with your club mates.)
In all seriousness, while Barefoot Bowls probably won’t make you faster, spending time with your Noosa Tri Club community just might help you enjoy the sport for a whole lot longer.
The friendships, laughs and support you build away from training are often what keep us coming back year after year.
With sunshine in the forecast, it’s the perfect excuse to swap your cycling shoes for bare feet, enjoy a drink, have a roll and spend an afternoon with great people.
One last endorphin hit on the weekend - get it without Lycra on the bowling green 🎳 We can’t wait to see you on Sunday! Register on line at www.noosatriclub.com/club-events-races/ Note - no elite level athletes were harmed or involved in this post, although they make look familiar they the vivid imagination of my digital twin 👯
