One of the things we love most about our club is that people build fitness here and then use it in different ways — for travel, adventure, personal challenges, joy, and yes, occasionally the odd Ironman.
In this week’s member spotlight we’re celebrating three athletes who quietly go about their business, each making our community stronger in their own way.
Sarah Pye is a fierce competitor wrapped in a calm and unassuming exterior. Whether it’s triathlon or, more recently, road racing, she consistently shows how it’s done. Sarah lets her actions do the talking, and from where we’re standing, this young athlete is very much on the rise.
Theo Stein is ready to rumble at Ironman Cairns. With an impressive racing résumé already behind him, we’re excited to see what race day brings. Like many great competitors, Theo combines a quiet, good-natured personality with a genuine love of racing. Good luck, Theo — we can’t wait to watch it unfold.
And finally, Julianne. Uber cyclist, Lantern Rouge leader, and one of the people who helps make our club what it is.
Why did she volunteer to lead Lantern Rouge rides?
“If I can help someone fall in love with cycling and feel safe on a bike, I would feel blessed.”
That simple sentiment captures the spirit of our club perfectly.
To Sarah, Theo and Julianne — thank you for quietly showing us what commitment, generosity and community look like. To all of our kind-hearted warriors who give their time, knowledge and encouragement to others, thank you for helping people feel safe, supported and proud to be part of this club.
