A Green is Open!

What a fantastic day we had on Saturday as members came together to celebrate the opening of our new A Green.

The positive feedback throughout the day was overwhelming, and it was great to see so many members enjoying the new surface and catching up with friends around the club.

This project represents a significant investment in the future of Christies Beach Bowling Club and would not have been possible without the support of a dedicated group of volunteers who contributed their time and effort throughout the process.

A special thank you goes to Lenny Pascoe, whose commitment and leadership in project managing the installation helped bring the project to life. Lenny dedicated countless hours behind the scenes to ensure the project was delivered successfully, and the club is extremely grateful for his efforts.

We would also like to thank all of the volunteers who contributed their time and energy throughout the project. The result is something the entire club can be proud of.

The improvements don't stop here, with the renovation of B Green expected to be completed within the next month as we continue to invest in the future of our club.

We look forward to seeing members enjoying the new A Green throughout the season ahead.

As part of our ongoing focus on player development, we've created a Player Development Library for Christies Beach bowlers.

The library contains a range of resources designed to help players of all levels improve their game, including delivery fundamentals, building and reading the head, tactical awareness, team culture, pressure situations and deliberate practice.

It also includes a growing collection of drill sheets. These drill sheets provide simple, structured practice activities that can be completed individually, with a partner, or as part of a group coaching session. They are designed to help players turn practice into meaningful improvement.

Several copies have been placed around the club for members to read through and review.

We're keen to hear your feedback. What do you like? What topics would you like to see added in future editions? Your input will help us continue to improve the resource.

If there is enough interest, we will also look at producing additional copies for members to keep as their own coaching reference, with a small contribution to help cover printing costs.

Christies Beach Bowling Club is excited to announce the appointment of Luke West as our new Club Coach.

With more than 25 years of playing experience, including the past seven seasons in Grange's Premier 1 side, Luke brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our club.

Luke will continue to play pennant bowls with Grange while working closely with Christies Beach to support player development. He will lead our pre-season training program, run Friday night practice sessions throughout the summer season, and be available for one-on-one coaching opportunities.

Luke's coaching philosophy centres around positive reinforcement, a team-first mentality and helping bowlers of all levels develop their skills and confidence.

Further details on coaching programs and opportunities will be released in the coming weeks.
