Chatswood Rugby Club is one of the oldest rugby clubs in Australia, founded in 1912 🦌

Chatswood Rugby Club was founded in 1912 and is one of the oldest Rugby Clubs in Australia. The club boasts a fine Rugby tradition and a loyal membership of both players and supporters. Wearing the green and gold that characterises Australian rugby through the Wallabies, Chatswood Rugby Club plays in the NSW Suburban Rugby Competition. This competition comprises 10 clubs with each club fielding at

least 2 grade teams. Chatswood Rugby Club is a community-based sporting club located within the Chatswood business district, our home ground is Beauchamp Park, Nicholson Street Chatswood. Chatswood Rugby Club welcomes any new players or supporters to the club, and each year hosts one of the biggest contingents of overseas players of any club in Sydney. Chatswood has something to offer anyone interested in rugby, whether you're a local player, or a visitor from interstate or overseas. As well as the senior teams, Chatswood Juniors have developed a very successful side to the club, with teams from the Under 7's to Under 18's. The club's Union Affiliation is with the New South Wales Suburban Rugby Union.

With our 2026 season wrapped up we’re already looking ahead, and we’re incredibly excited to be recruiting for Chatswood Rugby’s first ever women’s team! 🙌

Pre-season kicks off in January 2027, but it’s never too early to get the word out.

Whether you’ve played rugby before, are looking to get back into it, or have never picked up a rugby ball in your life, we want to hear from you!

That’s a wrap on 2026! It was a fantastic season for all of our teams and we absolutely loved having all of our new friendly faces to the club. A huge thank you to all our amazing coaches, supporters and our physio who make this club run and get our players onto the field week to perform their best week. We can’t wait for 2027 🔥

Our Colts unfortunately go down to Balmain in a tight arm wrestle in the preliminary finals 🤼 Chatswood fought valiantly in the first half but Balmain bolted out to an early lead of 22-0 by half time. However, in the second half it was all Chatswood. The Stags ramped up the intensity and fought back hard, scoring two unanswered tries and getting so close to a third, leaving Balmain scoreless in the second forty. Despite the loss it was a fantastic half of footy to end the season on and the Colts should be very proud of a huge season 🦌 onto 2027!

Even with two losses, the Stags had some bright sparks 🏉 Despite a dominant performance from our forwards and a second half surge in the backs, we couldn’t match the pace and skill of Redfield’s backs out wide in the 1s who are now knocked out of finals. Our Colts were right in it at half time, but after almost a full half of defensive effort they couldn’t hold out Cronulla in the second. However IT’S NOT OVER YET! Our Colts still go through to the Prelim Finals for another crack against Balmain due to their high ranking on the ladder !🦌🔥

THIS SATURDAY the stags head into the finals 🔥 Colts take on North Cronulla Sea-Lice Rugby and 1st grade take on Redfield Old Boys Rugby - it will be a cracking afternoon of footy at Eric Tweedale Stadium in Granville!

FINALS INCOMING 🔥 the regular season is officially over and both our Colts and 1st XV will be heading into finals! Following the bye this weekend, our Colts will take on North Cronulla Sea-Lice Rugby and our 1sts will take on Redfield Old Boys Rugby at Eric Tweedale Stadium in Granville on the 15th of August. Get behind the Stags!
