Congratulations to Toowoomba Shooters, Nathan Muller and Lauren Love on making the SEZ Trap Team.

Nathan made the Open Team and Lauren the Ladies Team. Congratulations also, to all the members from other Clubs, who made the team. I hope everyone had a great time at Toowoomba.

A big thank you to the SEZ Committee for running the Office, to Mal Collins for Shoot Marshalling, Ballandean Clay Target Club for sponsoring the Junior Shooters and to all the Toowoomba Members who assisted with preparing the grounds, traps, running the bar and kitchen and for tidying up after the shoot. A great team effort.

The South East Zone QCTA Inc. 2026 Annual Carnival has been run and won for another year.

Congratulations to all Event and High Gun Winners and safe travels to those heading home.

A good representation from across the Zone and by consequence the high guns with the exception A-Grade were attained by South East Zone Clubs.

A shout out to QCTA Western Zone's Mr. Mal Collins our Carnival Shoot Marshall for running a tight ship across the weekend. We appreciate your ability to run the shoot AND pull off an A-Grade Highgun.

Mal was ably supported by the President of Gympie Clay Target Club AND South East Zone QCTA Secretary Mr. Greg Nuske and the President of Bundaberg Clay Target Club AND Treasurer of the South East Zone QCTA, Mr. Darren Large.

With 136 Shooters in contention for the high guns and more than 140 licensed shooters competing in events across the weekend, you all contributed to one of the largest and most supported South East Zone Carnivals on the books.

The South East Zone would like to extend a thank you and appreciation to Mr. Keith Simpson, President of Toowoomba Clay Target Club for his clubs hospitality, assistance and general willingness to help in making this carnival the success that it was.

As they say, "it takes a village" and while it is great to be able to turn up and compete at these events, they don't run themselves.

My thanks to the entire support crew, from the Kitchen to the Trappers to the parents of the 17 juniors (12.5% of the attendees were Junior shooters).

Stay tuned for event photos and individual event results and thanks again for choosing to spend your weekend supporting the South East Zone QCTA and competing in our Annual Carnival.

-Matt

Toowoomba Shooters are performing strongly at the top end in the SEZ QCTA Shoot. ROB MCDOUGALL shared Overall in Event 1, the 45 T Medley on Friday.

Saturday saw Toowoomba Shooter, RUSSELL GORDON take out first in the Handicap, Event 2.

Event 3, the 25 T Single Barrel, went to NATHAN MULLER.

In the Double Barrel, Toowoomba Shooters, ROB DELBRIDGE and DAN JOHNSON shot the possible, but they were outclassed in the shoot off by Alex Incani from Brisbane who took Overall. Great shooting Alex. A well deserved win.

Well done Toowoomba Shooters. Keep up the good work today. Please forward me any relevant photos, so I can keep everyone up to date.

While many Toowoomba Shooters were at the Dalby 2 Day, a squad of Toowoomba Shooters supported the Toogoolawah Don Coleman Shoot. Nathan Muller was the star of the Day winning Overall in the Points Score , second in the Handicap and taking out the Overall High Gun. I managed to take 3rd in the Handicap, so a good result for Toowoomba. Phil K.

PS - Apologies to Mick, but fortunately thanks to Russell Muller I have a photo. As per comment below, Mick got first in the points in C Grade.

A belated but very well-deserved congratulations to TCTC members Russell Gordon and Phillip Keller, who travelled to the USA to compete at the 127th ATA Grand American World Trapshooting Championships in Sparta, Illinois from 29 July to 8 August.

The Grand American is one of the biggest events on the international trapshooting calendar, bringing together shooters from around the world for 11 days of competition.

A fantastic result for Russell Gordon, who came home as the AA Champion in the John Hiter Memorial International Event!

Russell and Phil both competed across a number of events during their time at the Grand, representing Toowoomba on a pretty impressive international stage.

Congratulations Russell on a brilliant result, and well done to both Russell and Phil on making the trip and representing TCTC in the USA!

A small but enthusiastic group of S***tties attended the monthly S***t shoot. 10 shooters attended but 4 left prior to photo. Perfect conditions to shoot in but scores were poor as we changed to different targets. Initially it was thought that the traps didn’t need modification but unfortunately that was not the case.

I managed to get the Highest score with a terrible 86/100, and Stumpy 1 behind me on 85. We did not refill the Carousels as I believe they needed to be empty to adjust the Splitters.

Hi Everyone, there is some confusion that our monthly S***t is on Sunday. Just confirming it is on tomorrow (Saturday), commencing at 12 noon. Program is the usual 50T Singles and 50 T (25 pairs) Doubles. Cost is $65 Adults and $32.50 Juniors. Col Gray is away and Chris Stumkat is out of town, so if anyone is available to assist I would be grateful. If not, I will get there early so I have it set up early and get into the office.
