Mickey
8yr old, bay, Arabian gelding, 15hh.
Mickey is a very sensible gelding who is easy to catch and good to float, shoe, rug, wash, handle in all ways, around traffic , machinery and more. Since we purchased Mickey last year he has mostly been used for endurance riding but I have also used him in the occasional riding lesson for intermediates and my 6yr old daughter has ridden him walk and trot rides in the forest. He has successfully completed 2 x 40kms, 1 x 50km and 1 x 80km endurance events. 2 of these events ridden by a young junior rider introducing her to the sport. He did have one vet out on lameness this year but trotted up completely sound on his return to camp and no other issues were found. He recently has just had some time off as we focused on preparing our Quilty / state championship horses and now has returned to work ready to find his new human.
He’s the type of horse to greet you in the paddock and will stand to be loved over all day. You can give him weeks off and with no prep work hop on and go for a ride. He easily rides out alone with confidence. He will lead or follow in a group of horses. Not lazy but not ripping your arms off forward either, he is a nice in between. Mostly being ridden by intermediates and above. I’ve never had raw beginners on him.
Mickey does have one small scar on his near side heel (see attached images) where he got caught up in a fence last year.
Fully up to date with dental, hoof care and worming. He is microchipped. He is not Hendra vaccinated.
Unfortunately the details for him on aeraspace are not up to date as I was sold him as a 5yr old and only this year was I able to track his breeder and actually identify that he is 8yr old and I do know his progeny.
He is a typical endurance horse who travels freely but hasn’t done a lot of flatwork.

10yo ~ 15hh ~ Arab gelding

Experienced open endurance horse

Fantastic heart rates and knows the sport well. Great to shoe, clip and wash, with dogs, other horses and machinery. Regularly ridden down the road so is familiar with all kinds of traffic. Travels well, eats and drinks well, can ride alone or in company. He is easy to handle in all ways but is a typical Arab so does shy so ideally not suited to a beginner rider. Carries LWT well but he’s given no reason to think he can’t take MWT.

Is currently shod and in consistent work, just completed a 40km at murrumba a few weeks ago with all As and 1s. Preparing for 80km at biggenden in 2 weeks.

Predominantly he has been an endurance or pleasure horse but I don’t ride much flatwork so if you want him for dressage or to travel on the bit he will need some guidance.

Work / volunteer opportunities available ideally for anyone who loves horses, teen or adult, if you’re experienced with horses and looking for more opportunities to be around them please contact me. We have many opportunities on offer. Can do volunteering in exchange for lessons / experience / riding opportunities.

Duties mostly include:
* horse feeding morning and afternoon
* packing hay nets / preparing feeds for following day
* picking up manure in paddocks
* general horse care such as checking, grooming , catching , rugging
* preparing and cooling down horses from exercise sessions

To be eligible you MUST:
* have previous experience with horses and be confident in handling / rugging / catching - you cannot be a beginner at these tasks
* a reliable driver if you do not have your licence
* a team attitude, a passion for learning more and independence to do jobs alone
*a good work ethic and physically fit, the job is physically demanding so you need to be fit or willing to get fit. It’s not sit around and pat the ponies all day.
*you must be available on atleast one of the following days: Wednesdays , Thursdays or Fridays.

We have over 30 horses on site and lots of great opportunities with horses , volunteering and general work on offer!

SAARA’S GEM
5yr old 13.2hh Egyptian Arabian mare

Gen arrived at our facility 8 weeks ago to be broken in and onsold due to a family tragedy. She has been an easygoing breaker with no major vices under saddle. She is good to catch, rug, wash, tie up, float, handle, paddock with or without other horses, is familiar with the craziness of children and respects electric fencing.

Since her breaking in she has done mostly trail riding, including riding from home down the roads and becoming familiar with all types of traffic. She has ridden alone or in groups. Will happily lead or follow and loves to be out and about.

Although Gem is a quiet mare she is best suited to someone who has experience. Given her ridden career only being a few months long she is still green and is a typical Arab so can pop in the odd shy. Whilst she has worn a bit and been mouthed she does have a very minor parrot mouth and therefore travels much more comfortably in a hackamore or halter.

She is fully up to date with worming, farrier and dentist.

Whilst we wait for her to find a new human her training , education and time in the saddle will continue.

Super quiet, sweet boy who will stand to be loved and cuddled on all day.
15.2hh 7yr old standardbred gelding
Good to wash, rug, float, shoe, with other horses, around feed, float to new locations and more.
Yanky was trialed for racing and deemed unsuitable so then came to us to be broken to saddle and begin his ridden career. Mostly he has done trail riding on our property, down the roads and floating out to different locations for riding. He has done a small amount of arena work but prefers to be on the trails.
He rides out well after time off, requires no preparation work and will happily lead or follow. Will step over logs, through creeks and climb up and down small banks with confidence.
He has a smooth trot for a standardbred and he was never taught to pace so canters well.
Absolutely not fussed by what happens on his back, you can stand up on him, ride backwards, ba****ck, forwards or slide of his bum and he will stand for it all.
Travels nicely on the bit and will work towards a frame easily.
Very sensible gelding whom is easy to have around and loves getting out and about.
Great after time off or if he is in inconsistent work.
Recently he went to an Aggistment centre as a trial for a new owner and was in a small paddock alone in a high activity environment and he was unsettled there with only arena work so we brought him back and continued on with him in hopes to find him a good trail riding or variety home.
He is up to date with hoof care, currently barefoot with boots being put on when ridden.
Was recently wormed and is a good doer so easy to keep.

Solid 15hh 8yr old grey stock horse mare.
Misty is a gentle horse who is good with kids, a great doer, familiar with dogs, farm animals, machinery, cars, good to be hosed, pick up her legs, with other horses, around feed and more.
Recently Misty came to our facility to be brought back into work after a few years off riding at no fault of her own and now they have decided to rehome her.
Since her arrival a few weeks ago she has been ridden in the yard, arena and on trails around our property and down the road. She will happily lead the way or follow behind another horse and quite enjoys being out on the trail.
Misty has been handled on the ground by individuals as young as 9 years old, including catching, grooming and many groundwork exercises.
Misty was a solid riding horse before her break who did lots of farm riding and was very confident in crossing all terrain but mostly she has just been a pleasure trail horse. Since her return to ridden work she has shown no signs of buck, bite or rear. She is a naturally forward moving horse, no silly behaviour but prefers to keep moving and loves to have a job. She can be nervous at times under saddle and thrives from a confident, soft rider who can support her and needs more time in the saddle to get back to the swing of things. Ideally she will be a great horse to suit any disciple for an experienced, confident rider. Currently requires no prep work before hopping on and is in work 3-4 times per week.
Misty can stand tied all day, floats well, good for the farrier and has a big will to please. She will make a fantastic horse for the right human.
Up to date with worming and hoof care.
