Meet ELLIE!
This sweet 15.3hh TB mare is also here with us to find her new human 🥰

Predominantly she’s been a trail riding horse for an older lady, but she’s also been out to clinics and had a few adventures.

Message our page to find out more info about her 🙂

Meet GEN!
This pretty little registered Arab mare belongs to a client and is looking for a new home!
Leaving due to no fault of her own; just illness within the family and a need to downsize.
She’s at thunder ridge to be broken in and find her new human.
She’s a 6yr old standing at 13.3hh, a beautiful mover and a fast learner.
Has now been backed, mouthed, had adventures down the road, had her teeth done, her feet done, been wormed , floated and more. Will continue on with her training and breaking in until she finds her human.
Will make a great sporting pony or small adult / junior mount for endurance.
Located carters ridge.

One of the biggest mistakes buyers make?

They meet a horse in one management system… and expect it to behave exactly the same in another.

A horse living in a large paddock with friends, worked consistently 5 days a week by a confident rider may genuinely be quiet, relaxed and rideable.

Move that same horse to:
• more stabling
• less turnout
• inconsistent work
• a nervous rider
• a completely different routine
…and you may meet a very different horse.

Not because anyone lied.
Not because the horse is “bad.”
And not because the seller hid something.

Management matters. Workload matters. Rider confidence matters.

And confidence works both ways.

Georgie was incredibly confident on her other horse.

She initially handled Lightning’s young horse antics without issue.

And Lightning? He was incredibly confident with his previous owner and could tolerate the occasional rider mistake. To a point.

But after a few too many young horse moments from Lightning… both horse and rider confidence cups started draining.

Suddenly, the horse trusted the rider less.
The rider trusted the horse less.
And everything felt harder.
Thankfully, we had Amelia step in to help...

That’s the reality people don’t talk about enough — a horse and rider can both be wonderful individually and still need support to become great together.

The goal isn’t just buying a good horse. But buying the right horse that will still be the right horse in six months.

It’s creating the right environment and success long term — and protecting both confidence cups once the horse comes home.

👀 for new 🏡

Lovely dark bay / black when rugged, 8yr old and 15hh standardbred gelding.

Good to brush, catch, rug, hose, float, with or without other horses, worm, take out to new places, ride ba****ck, around traffic and more.

Zac is fully up to date with worming, dental and hoof care. Currently being ridden with front shoes.

Zac has been off the track for 8 months, had a spell and then been used as a pleasure riding horse. He walks, trots and canters both on trails and in the arena. In this time he has also obtained lots of ground skills, obstacles, solo and group trail rides. But predominantly been a trail horse. He’s confident out riding down main roads, through paddocks and into forestry. He will cross bridges, narrow technical tracks and through water with no problems. He also will ride over poles, carpet and tarps with no hesitation.

Has been ridden by intermediate riders in the arena and on trail rides. A great allrounder gelding. He’s a soft soul whom will benefit from a kind, gentle home. He is not pushy and he tries his heart out to please you. He has a soft mouth and is sensible in all positions when trail riding with other horses but can jig - jog when riders hold his rein too short or have a wobbly lower leg that tends to bump against him in the faster paced. He would be best suited as a trail riding mount for a teen or small adult looking to pleasure ride and enjoy him.

Zac has been one of my most favourite Standardbreds who has been through our retraining program and it’s a bit sad his time has come to find a new home.

He does suffer from mild Queensland itch, where I keep him in a day combo (no hood) full time and once a fortnight wash him in quit itch which seems to keep it maintained. It only affects the top of his tail and a tiny bit behind his ears.

Genuinely quiet, give anything a go, rising 7yrs, black, 15.1hh standardbred gelding.
This lovely fella was prepped for racing as a trotter - not pacer - and never made it to the track as they didn’t feel he enjoyed it.
Since then he’s been broken in as a ridden horse and thrives in this discipline.
Yanky is an easy to have around boy who will stand to be loved over all day long. He is good to catch, wash, brush, trim, shoe, rug , float and more. He’s been ridden out alone or in groups of horses. A nice walk, trot and canter including a soft mouth making him super easy to pull up. He will travel in a frame when asked and has a good back up.
This boy is the horse many would ask to have in their paddock as he has no vices and really is so loveable.
Mostly yanky has done trail riding however he has begun his flatwork exercises and light pole work. Mostly at walk and trot but had some canters aswell.
We have ridden through creeks, over tarps, thrown toys and cones on and off him, ridden him ba****ck in a halter, floated to new locations for riding, slid off his bum , climbed through his legs and more. He’s familiar with dogs, cats, small children, traffic. Easy to handle whilst eating and fine to have weeks off then hop on and go. He’s had beginners through to experienced riders on him with no issues. Just if going to a beginner home he may benefit from an intermediate - experienced rider to help continue his flatwork schooling to perfection however he is completely fine for beginners to ride in the arena just more if you want him more established in this area.
