🏉 REFEREE UNIFORMS | ACTJRU GRAND FINALS 🏉

You may notice some differences in referee uniforms across this weekend’s Grand Final matches. Here’s what they mean:

🟨 Plain Gold Jersey
Referees who have completed their Laws exam, annual Referee Ready Course and Smart Rugby course, but have not yet achieved Level One status, wear a plain gold jersey featuring the ACT Referees Association badge.

🟨 Level One Referee – Gold Jersey
Level One is a nationwide qualification administered by the Australian Rugby Union. Referees must be over 15 and successfully complete a field assessment involving a full 15-a-side match with contested scrums and lineouts. Level One referees wear a gold jersey featuring the ACT Rugby Referees Association sponsors’ logo.

🟩 Under-18 Referees – Green Socks
Referees under 18 wear plain green socks. This helps create a positive environment for our younger referees and reinforces a zero-tolerance approach to harassment and abuse.

👏 Every referee taking the field this weekend plays an important role in delivering our Grand Finals. Please respect their decisions, support their development and help us create a positive environment for everyone involved.

🏆 Introducing the 2026 U18 Players of the Year! 🏆

For the first time in 2026, the ACT Junior Rugby U18 Male and Female Player of the Year awards were presented as part of the ACT Senior Rugby Awards Night.

The awards recognise outstanding performances across ACT competitions and representative programs throughout the 2026 season.

Congratulations to our inaugural winners:

🏉 U18 Male Player of the Year — Aidan Wunsch (Daramalan College)
🏉 U18 Female Player of the Year — Terina Ngata (Tuggeranong Vikings)

A fantastic achievement and well-deserved recognition of two outstanding young players and their contributions to rugby in the ACT.

🏉 GIRLS WINTER RUGBY PROGRAM RETURNS THIS WEDNESDAY! 🏉

After a short break over the school holidays, we're excited to be back on the field this Wednesday for the next session of our Girls Winter Rugby Program! 🙌

Whether you've been with us from the start or are thinking about giving rugby a go for the first time, there's still plenty of time to join. Our sessions are designed to be fun, welcoming and inclusive for girls of all experience levels.
