A little support can make a lovely difference to your yoga practice. 🧡

You don’t have to reach the floor or sit cross-legged without a cushion. A block, folded blanket or cushion can give you room to settle into a pose more comfortably, without forcing it.

Using props is part of learning what works for your body, whether you’re just starting or have been practising for years.

Next time you roll out your mat, keep a little support nearby. 🌿

There’s no deadline for grief.

You might feel okay for weeks, then hear a song, visit a familiar place, find an old photograph, or remember something small, and suddenly the loss feels close again.

That doesn’t mean you’ve gone backwards.

Grief isn’t a straight road where each day takes you further away from what happened. Some days are lighter. Some days bring memories you thought you had already made peace with.

Perhaps healing is less about reaching a point where grief disappears, and more about learning how to live fully alongside everything the loss has left behind: the sadness, the memories, the love, and even the ways it has changed you.

Give yourself permission to move at your own pace. 🌿

Kieran O’Callaghan-Rishikiz explores these experiences and offers practical ways of working with loss in Everyone Needs to Know How to Effectively Overcome Loss and Grief and Thrive.

One story. Two journeys.

What happens when a story of unimaginable loss becomes a journey into love, connection and a deeper understanding of life?

Jai's Story begins with Kieran O'Callaghan's experience as a father following the sudden death of his eight-year-old son, Jairam.

But Jai's story doesn't end there.

In Part One, Kieran weaves his family's experience together with stories from his life, his years of yoga and meditation, and the insights that shaped the way he faced one of life's most profound losses.

Then comes Part Two: The Indian Pilgrimage.

Before Jai passed away, he had been incredibly excited about travelling to India. After his farewell and celebration of life in Australia, Kieran and Jai's older brother made that journey on his behalf. What followed was a pilgrimage through India and encounters with yogis and spiritual teachers, continuing a journey that Jai had so wanted to experience.

Together, the two books tell a much bigger story.

A story about a father and his son.
About loss and love.
About ancient wisdom and modern life.
And about the possibility that even our most painful experiences can open us to a different way of seeing and experiencing life.

If you've never read Jai's Story, start with Part One and continue the journey into India with Part Two. ❤️

A few mindful movements can shift the energy of your whole day. ☀️

Sun Salutations gently awaken the body, calm the mind and bring your attention back to the rhythm of your breath. Move through each pose at your own pace, letting every inhale create space and every exhale release tension.

No need to rush. Simply breathe, move and reconnect with yourself. 🧘‍♀️

How are you feeling right now, not only in your mind, but also in your body?

Grief can appear as racing thoughts, a heavy chest, tightness in the throat, exhaustion, restlessness, or a feeling that something inside us has closed down.

One practical exercise explored in Everyone Needs to Know How to Effectively Overcome Loss and Grief and Thrive is to regularly pause and check in with yourself. On a scale from –10 to +10, how does your body feel? How does your mind feel?

You do not need to judge your answer or force yourself to feel better immediately. The purpose is simply to become aware of what you are experiencing. From there, you can respond with kindness through gentle breathing, movement, rest, time in nature, or connection with someone supportive.

We cannot care for what we refuse to notice. Sometimes, healing begins with one honest pause and the question:

“How am I, really?”

Discover more practical guidance for navigating grief in Everyone Needs to Know How to Effectively Overcome Loss and Grief and Thrive.

💙 If you know someone who may be struggling, consider sharing this with them. Sometimes the smallest act of kindness can make the biggest difference.
