(Day 7-8)

Final Day of the Australian Age Nationals 🟣🔵

What a way to finish, with 6 Pelicans in action today!

Club Relay – 4x50m Medley
We had four very excited girls step up for tonight’s final — Ava Vella, Sabelle Hincksman, Lucia O’Keefe, and Lucy Quinlan.

It’s been 7 years since the Pelicans have had a relay team at Nationals, making this moment extra special. The girls rose to the occasion, delivering a PB swim and finishing 39th overall. Absolutely amazing effort, girls 👏

200m Freestyle Heats

Zane went out strong, pushed the pace, and delivered a PB swim, placing 17th in the 16yrs 200m Freestyle. A fantastic way to wrap up his Nationals 🔥

Archie raced with great intent — staying patient early before charging home through the field. He finished 16th in the 15 YRS 200m Free and dropped a huge 1.58 seconds off his PB. Brilliant ex*****on and a strong finish to his campaign 👊

What an incredible meet for the Pelicans!
So much growth, determination, and great racing across the week.

Proud is an understatement — amazing work team

What another great day of racing — Day 6 was another epic one for the Pelicans! 🔥

Two Pelicans hit the water today and both delivered outstanding performances.

Archie took on the 15 YRS 200m Back and produced a brilliant swim, hitting a PB and qualifying for the Final. In a stacked field, Archie stepped up under pressure and finished an impressive 10th overall in Australia. Huge effort, Archie! 🔥

Griff was also in action, racing the 14 YRS 50m Fly — the ultimate splash-and-dash. Griff got his hands to the wall in a PB performance, earning himself a spot in the B Final. Under the bright lights, he backed it up with another strong swim, placing 10th in the B Final and 20th overall. Awesome work, Griff!

Amazing racing from both boys — representing the Pelicans with pride on the national stage 👊

P.S. Gotta love the model shots of the boys 😆

2026 Australian Age Championships
(Day 5-8)

Day 5 delivered something truly special from our Pelicans—an outstanding showcase of determination, courage, and high-level racing! 🔥

Lucia stepped up for her very first Age Nationals and made an immediate impact. She opened her campaign in the 13yrs 200m Freestyle with a strong, composed swim to place 49th. But she was only getting started. In the 13yrs 100m Butterfly, Lucia produced a brilliant personal best to secure a spot in the B Final. Returning that night, she raced with heart and confidence, finishing 9th in the B Final and an impressive 19th overall. An incredible debut performance—Lucia, you should be so proud!

Eli came in focused and ready in the 15yrs 200m Butterfly, with one goal in mind—make the final. Mission accomplished. Not only did he qualify, but he lifted again in the final, delivering a powerful swim, a personal best, and an outstanding 7th place finish in the country. That’s elite racing—well done, Eli!

Ella also made her Nationals debut in the 13yrs 100m Butterfly and showed great maturity in her approach. Sticking to her race plan and executing it perfectly, she achieved a personal best and a strong 40th place. A fantastic first Nationals swim—great job, Ella!

Archie took on the tough 15yrs 200m Breaststroke and attacked it with determination. His effort paid off with a huge 2.44-second personal best and a 30th place finish. That’s the reward for hard work—awesome racing, Archie!

Zane brought the speed in the 16yrs 50m Freestyle, charging through the water to break the 25-second barrier for the first time. A big personal best of 24.89 and a 56th place finish—an exciting milestone and a brilliant swim!

Across the board, this team continues to rise—pushing limits, chasing goals, and delivering when it counts. The effort, the energy, and the team spirit on display is something to be proud of. Pelicans, you are absolutely flying! 🟣🔵

2026 Australian Age Championships
(Day 4-8)

Pelicans are halfway through the Championships and the team continues to step up with some outstanding performances.

Griff had a big day with two events. He kicked things off in the 100m Freestyle with a strong swim, finishing just outside his PB and placing 41st. He then backed up in the 50m Backstroke, where he qualified for the B Final and went on to place 20th overall after finishing 10th in the final — a great result.

Archie was next in the 400m Freestyle and was absolutely on fire. He won his heat, dropping a second to secure a spot in the final. In the final, Archie took it to another level, slicing off an impressive 3.61 seconds to finish 6th — an incredible swim and a huge statement.

Zane also lined up in the 400m Freestyle, showing great intent and determination throughout his race. His effort was rewarded with a 0.60 PB — a strong performance.
