We get this A LOT... so we wanted to make a video.
We are not bothered when your child is 'acting up' in a swim lesson; in fact, this is them communicating with us where they're at today. THIS is how we determine the pace we will run the lesson. We meet them where they're at. We READ the child in front of us BEFORE we teach drills- that's the Flow State Aquatic Method way.
There is no right or wrong for your child to do or be when you come to our lessons. Simply allow them to show up, be who they are, and WE will pivot accordingly.
Learning a new skill is hard for anyone, especially a child, let alone one that involves being in the water. This can bring up many emotions and behaviours. We want them to show us this, so we can then move through these with them, so that at the end, all that's left is a loving relationship with the water.
So please, relax your shoulders, unclench your jaw, and let us see and accept your child exactly as they are. ✨
