•MY HAPPY PLACE•
First day catching cohos in the river. It was sure nice getting that rain earlier this week. Me and thought we’d venture out to a beautiful river and we were rewarded with a hand full of cohos. It always makes me wonder why a hatchery coho is in a non hatchery river. But I guess they follow other cohos or just venture off from there home river. Still a beautiful fall day. Get out there and enjoy the island. Have a great weekend everyone.

Great weekend exploring the island. What a beautiful place we live in. Elk tracks, lots of cutthroat trout, and hanging with my best mate . Get out there and enjoy the island.

•WORK HORSE•
This rod is definitely a work horse for a 5/6 weight switch its got some balls. Courtenay from said it would be able to handle a few springs and it did it’s job. To all the Albertans I know, this is the king of the sea. I do love bull trout but a fresh Chinook is hard to beat. I’m sure I’ll get some slack for this comment. Bring it on. Get out there this weekend and get your arm bent. You won’t be disappointed. Have a great weekend everyone.

•ARM IN A CAST•
Another hard day in the office. Casting to pinks on the flats is like casting to bonefish. You see them in a foot of water you cast 5 feet in front of them and strip fast and watch one of pinks in the pack come out and smash your fly. The visual is just awesome. Get out there and enjoy this fishery.

I was taught this technique by a legend of a fly fisher name Gavin Davis. He said it was a technique his fore fathers had taught him and now I’m teaching Nick the art of tea bagging. Let the games begin.

•TOO HOT•
Too hot to fish so I went for a quick snorkel to see if anymore salmon have arrived. Looks like the same ones from the day. Unfortunately the weather is heading to the 30’s from tomorrow on for a week this means more stress and rivers getting lower. Here’s praying for rain.

•SNORKELLING•
Anybody else out there bored with the low water and trying snorkelling so you can still enjoy the river? Saw a couple chinooks and a pink I think. Things are starting to turn around. Get out there and enjoy the island.

Do you seal your cork on your new rods? Well I was told about it a year ago at . They told me it will help my cork last longer and will be easy to clean and keep that new cork look. What’s your thoughts?

John is a legend this guy can tie cod/pike flies. His topwater flies bloop unreal. I was so excited to try the dozen plus flies he sent me over from Australia. Let's just say that not one fly fell apart. That's saying a lot when fishing for pike. Thanks mate a true legend.

16lbs of brute strength. This fella dogged me and took me on atleast 5 blistering runs. was generous enough to help me out when my new rod for the trip didn't arrive. I used a 6wt. Loop rod matches with a Loop reel and that rod had some backbone. Definitely was my saviour on this trip. Thanks guys for the local support. Go check them out in Cumberland and they'll help you out with all your fly fishing needs.
