A HUGE THANK YOU TO TANYA & SHARON 💙💛💚

We want to take a moment to recognise two incredible people who have given so much to Busselton Netball Association over the past four years.

While we’re very lucky that we still have them with us for a little longer, Tanya and Sharon will complete their Board terms in February 2027, and we were proud to recognise their contribution at our Grand Final presentations.

Tanya has served as both a General Board Member and Vice President, while Sharon has served as Vice President and Treasurer.

But their contribution goes so much further than their Board titles.

Carnivals, MND Round, events, Spring competitions, meetings, game days, set-ups, pack-downs, planning, problem-solving and all those countless jobs behind the scenes that simply need someone to step up and get them done — they have been there.

Over the past four years, both Tanya and Sharon have given an enormous amount of their time, energy and commitment to BNA, often doing the things that no one else sees but that keep our Association moving forward.

We are incredibly grateful for everything you have both contributed to BNA and our netball community.

There will certainly be some very big shoes to fill.

🌟2026 VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR – LAURA HUTTON-STORER 🌟

Laura is the epitome of the “here if you need me” netballer — and quite possibly our “I’ve been everywhere, woman!”

From coaching her team, helping in the canteen, putting on the red vest and walking the courts as Game Day Management, to umpiring each and every week — sometimes at the expense of missing her own daughters’ footy games — Laura is always there.

Set ups, pack downs, Saturday game days, carnivals, events, MND Round, canteen duties, cleaning bathrooms, Board responsibilities and all the other jobs that seem to pop up along the way — Laura is so often one of the first to answer the call when an extra pair of hands is needed.

And she doesn’t just turn up. Laura does it all with humour, passion and plenty of personality. She keeps us laughing, has us putting our hands on our heads at times 😂, and is an absolute character and a joy to have around.

No job is too big, too small, too glamorous or definitely not glamorous — Laura simply rolls up her sleeves and gets it done.

Laura embodies what volunteering in community sport is all about. She gives her time, energy and enthusiasm so generously, not for recognition, but simply because there is a job to be done and she is willing to help.

It is our absolute pleasure to recognise Laura Hutton-Storer as the Busselton Netball Association 2026 Volunteer of the Year.

Congratulations Laura, and thank you for everything you give to BNA. This recognition is incredibly well deserved 🤩

🏐 SPRING COMPETITION UPDATE

There’s a change coming for Spring 2026 — Spring is moving to Monday’s.

Games will commence at 4:30pm and run on the hour, with the final games starting at 7:30pm.

We are currently seeking Expressions of Interest from our umpires to confirm availability across the Monday timeslots.

This will help us determine how many teams we can accommodate across each age group.

Once we have this information, we’ll be able to finalise the Spring schedule and share further details with everyone.

The previously advertised 2027 Representative Trials will be postponed until February 2027.

We are excited to be moving into 2027 with a full Board in place but with proposed changes to carnival dates, along with the review and development of the 2027 Competition Operating Procedure (COP), the Board and Association Development Officer have made the decision to postpone trials until all relevant details are confirmed.

This will allow us to ensure that the procedures, policies and requirements for the 2027 Representative Program are finalised and clearly communicated before players take part in trials.

We understand that moving trials to February will mean teams are formed later than in previous years. However, we are confident there will be sufficient time following trials for team selections, training and team nominations to be completed ahead of the 2027 Winter season.

We believe this is the best approach to ensure players, families, coaches and officials have clear and accurate information from the outset and that the program is well prepared for the season ahead.

Further information, including confirmed trial dates, age groups and the 2027 Representative Program details, will be communicated once finalised.

🏐 SATURDAY GRAND FINAL WRAP-UP 🏐

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us yesterday for our Saturday Grand Finals, bringing our 2026 Saturday fixture season to a close!

Congratulations to all of our teams and players, coaches, managers, umpires and officials, and a huge thank you to our Board, Working Group, Club Committees and volunteers who all contributed to making Grand Final Day — and our Saturday season — possible.

🏆 Our Grand Final winners, game MVPs and 2026 season award winners will all be celebrated and shared soon — stay tuned!

We now look forward to our Monday Night Grand Finals and officially wrapping up our 2026 winter netball season.
