QUEENSLAND BASEBALL UMPIRES ASSOCIATION

27/10/2026

Meet Jackson Caton from Aura Baseball Club, our latest Umpire of the Month nominee!

At just 13, Jackson is already making a big impact on the diamond, regularly stepping up to umpire multiple games on Saturdays before returning to the field on Sundays to help officiate Women’s League games.

But it’s not just about the games he covers. Jackson brings enthusiasm, a willingness to learn and a genuine determination to keep improving every time he steps onto the field.

He’s building his confidence, developing his skills and proving that age is no barrier to making a valuable contribution to your club.

💪 The next generation of baseball officials is in good hands!

Congratulations, Jackson, and thank you for the time, energy and passion you’re giving back to Aura Baseball Club and the wider Sunshine Coast baseball community. Keep up the great work!

Well done Andrew!

Two games every weekend. All winter long.

Now that's worthy of our monthly umpire award!

This winter, Andrew has stepped up to umpire two games every weekend, taking on games at Surfers and heading out on Sundays to officiate in the SQWBL.

But it's not just about the number of games—it's the way Andrew approaches every one.

As a club umpire coordinator, he has earned the respect of players through his accuracy, consistency and calm game management.

He knows the rules, knows how to manage a game and, importantly, commands respect from players on both sides of the diamond.

Umpires don't always get the spotlight, but without them, there simply isn't a game.

Andrew is one of those volunteers who keeps turning up, keeps putting in the work and helps make sure our players can do what they love.

Two games a weekend. Week after week. That's commitment. 👏

Thank you, Andrew, for giving your time and helping keep baseball moving this winter! ⚾💙

Know someone who continuously goes above and beyond? Give them a shout out by dropping a nomination for our monthly awards.
