Here's a thought before we head into the last week of winter.

Spring doesn't actually start in September. It starts with what you're doing right now, in August, while no one's watching and it feels easier to wait.

You don't need a big fresh start. You just need to keep showing up now, so you're already feeling stronger, calmer and more like yourself when spring actually gets here.

Real talk. That 2pm slump isn't always solved by another coffee.

Lauren started back with us not long ago, and this is what she told us:

Sleep and energy don't get talked about enough when it comes to Pilates, but honestly they're often the first thing to shift.

You spent the weekend running everyone else's errands, answering everyone else's messages, sorting everyone else's problems.

An hour on the reformer isn't selfish. It's the thing that lets you keep showing up for everyone else without running on empty.

If you've been coming for a while, you know it's not really about the exercises anymore.

It's the people who ask how your week was. The ones who notice when you've missed a few classes. The chat after class that goes fifteen minutes longer than it should.

That's the bit we can't put on a timetable, and honestly it's the bit that keeps most of you coming back.

Belinda had been wanting to get back into some kind of exercise for ages and kept her words: my physical and mental health shifted in the most transformative way. I've got so much more strength, my energy is up, my confidence is up, and I've made some great friends along the way.

This is genuinely why we do what we do. Not the workout itself, but what it opens up for people.

Not every win shows up on a scale.

Some of our favourites this month:

1. Actually sleeping through the night
2. Less back pain doing normal life things
3. A calmer head by the time you leave
4. Getting up off the floor without the noises
5. Making it to 3pm without wanting to nap under your desk
