Our August Regatta kicked off today with day 1 of the Sabre Winter Nationals. A few random shots of the action by Russell Witt Photography. The Sabres will continue tomorrow and be joined by the fleet for the Allboats Regatta.

Welcome, Sailors — Please Slow Down for Our Birds! 🐦

A warm welcome to all the sailors coming into our village at Boreen Point for the Winter Sabre Nationals and Allboats Regatta this weekend! ⛵️

As you make your way through town and down to Main Beach, please slow down and watch out for bird families crossing all roads especially those leading to and along the main beach area.

We have many land-based bird families raising ducklings and chicks at this time of year. The little ones often cross the roads with their parents and can appear suddenly, and very tiny, so please be patient, give them plenty of space, and wait for them to safely make their way across.

These birds are an important part of our village, and their nesting areas around Main Beach need to be treated with care and respect. Please keep speeds low, watch carefully, and give nesting birds and their families a wide berth.

Thank you for helping us protect our local bird families while you enjoy the regatta and our beautiful village. 💚🐦🦆

Our club is now looking s***k and span and ready for the sailing season ahead! ⛵️✨
