Australian Sailing - SA Our Purpose:
To grow sailing by leading, inspiring, and supporting sailors and their communities.

Australian Sailing is the governing body for the sport of Sailing in Australia. We are responsible for the administration, promotion and development of sailing. We are a member-based organisation that represent the interests and provides services & support to over 360 clubs across Australia as well as more than 160 accredited Discover Sailing Centres. Our Priorities are to work with Clubs to:

✨Meet the coaches - Zhik Youth Sail SA ✨

Luke Allison will be a lead coach at Zhik Youth Sail SA

Luke Allison is currently the Australian Sailing Performance Pathway Coach in South Australia, as well as the Head Youth Coach at CYCSA, working with the Elliott 7 fleet. A former Opti and International Cadet sailor in his youth, he went on to compete internationally in Fireballs, Sharpies, and keelboats. He has recently returned from Shanghai, where he competed in the Fareast 23 International Elite Regatta, with the team finishing second overall.

✨Meet the coaches - Zhik Youth Sail SA✨

Carter Baker will bring his awesome sailing skills to Optimist coaching camp between the 28th and 29th of September 😎

Carter has been hooked on sailing ever since he first stepped into his Optimist, and he hopes to pass on his passion to you!! Carter has had the opportunity to compete at some amazing events, including winning the 2022 National Championship in the International 420 Class Australian Championships and being part of the Australian Sailing Youth Team representing Australia at the World Sailing Youth World Championships
Carter is great because he loves helping sailors improve, build confidence, and have fun on the water, whether just starting out or chasing their next big goal.

Brady Lowe will be the head coach for the event.

Brady will return to SA for Youth Sail hot off the plane from Coaching Australia's representatives at the New York Yacht Clubs women's International Championship, having also coached the Australian Sailing 49er Futures team at the World Championships in France, and European Championships in Germany. He will also lead the coaching team at the 2026 Youth World Championship in Portugal in December

Sophie McIntosh and Ben Hinks will bring his expertise to SA to coach the 420's

Sophie is an accomplished sailor who has represented Australia at the Youth Worlds in the 420. Sophie has previously been apart of Australian Sailing Futures and the Australian Sailing Squad where she sailed the 470.

Ben Hinks is currently pursuing an Olympic Campaign in the 470, and has experience coaching a range of different classes.

These coaches are looking forward to the coaching camp and cannot wait to see you there!
